Description
Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Physician Assistant to work in our outpatient Otolaryngology (ENT) department. The APP will be assisting the ENT surgeon with patient care and having independent clinic to support access in clinic.
Schedule: 4x10s, M-F, day off TBD; no nights/weekends/holidays/on-call
The Physician Assistant reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization?s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Physician Assistant performs procedures in accordance with clinical privileges and/or the written collaborative agreement and within the specialty of the supervising physician. This role functions autonomously and collaborates with other health professionals to provide high quality, cost effective health care to patients, manage health care systems, and influence health care decision-making through expert clinical reasoning, research and theory-based practice.
Responsibilities:
Provides direct care to patients which demonstrates clinical expertise and advanced knowledge.
Diagnoses and manages acute and chronic health problems within specialty area of practice.
Collaborates and consults with physicians and other health care professionals in area of clinical expertise.
Develops educational systems and strategies for teaching patients, families and staff on topics related to area of expertise.
Mentors graduate students in aspects of advanced practice.
Actively participates in and/or conducts research pertinent to area of expertise.
Specific Performance Standards:
1. Clinical
Conducts comprehensive appraisals of patients? health status by taking health histories and performing physical examinations in specialty area
Provides primary prevention strategies and management of stable health problems
Provides specialty care to assigned patients that may include both stable and unstable chronic health problems
Establishes diagnoses for common short-term or chronic health conditions
Prescribes medications, diet, supplies, prosthetic devices and other home health aides or medication according to clinical privileges
Orders and Interprets appropriate laboratory tests, x-rays, electrocardiograms and diagnostic procedures specified in clinical privileges
Evaluates patients to determine their need for further health care
Teaches and counsels patients and families in preventive care, medical conditions, plan of care, anticipated outcomes, and the use of prescribed treatments and drugs
Documents in the medical record all care provided and/or procedures performed
Serves as consultant to other disciplines in areas of expertise
2. Leadership/Organization
Mentors staff to ensure quality of health care practices.
Assists with policy development and review in area of expertise
Participates in unit/departmental/divisional and/or hospital committees/task forces.
Consults with management in assessment, problem solving, decision making, and evaluating clinical/system issues.
3. Education
Provides comprehensive teaching to patients and their families.
Develops and participates in programs to meet continuing education needs of staff.
Provides formal education to both internal and external groups pertinent to area of specialty.

4. Quality and Outcomes
Identifies primary patient needs, participates as applicable in the NMG quality program with focus on measures in patient satisfaction, quality performance, and access

Qualifications
Required:
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Physician Assistant Programs
Physician Assistant in Medicine, Licensed (IL)
Physician Assistant certification by a national certifying body as approved by the Illinois Department of Regulation
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required as specified by department
Controlled substance license and DEA registration required as specified by the department
Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a PA

Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, collaborative, and flexible Advanced Practice Provider to join our fast-paced inpatient Trauma & Acute Care Surgery team. As an APP on the Trauma Surgery service, you will respond to trauma activations in the ER, assist in consultations, and contribute to the management for 20-50 high-acuity patients. This is not an operative position. Must be enthusiastic about a teaching environment for trainees of all levels.
Schedule: 4x10s on weekdays (M,T,Th,F). One week per month will be 3x10s on weekdays and 1x10 on Saturday. No on-call

Job Description
**This is a Full Time, salaried position at 40 hours per week located at the Cancer Center.**
The Physicist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The medical Physicist develops and accurately documents every components of the treatment machine parameters that reflect the accuracy of treatment plans, as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist, to assure the delivery of quality patient care free of any error on a daily basis. The Physicist is responsible for acceptance testing, commissioning, and maintaining the treatment machine within national guidelines as specified in AAPM guidelines as well as provide daily, monthly and annual QA programs for every piece of equipment used for patient treatment.
Additionally, the Physicist provides validation of the treatment planning system for its accuracy as it relates to the patient. The Physicist is knowledgeable enough for safe operation of every available software for patient care and know the algorithms for dose calculation. This role is a go-to-person on technical component of the hardware/software and collaborates with other sections and supports the clinical needs of the department.
Responsibilities:
Instrumental in acceptance testing and commissioning of new equipment, development of new treatment techniques, quantitative analysis of clinical data
Provide QA methodology for simulator, and treatment machines for daily, monthly and annual calibrations as well as documentation for state regulator (IEMA)
Develops methodology for image import, acquisition, and implementation of imaging modalities (CT, MRI, PET, PET/CT) for fusion and treatment planning
Implementation of complex treatment plans (IMRT, VMAT, IGRT, SBRT) as well as new technology
Assisting in ensuring that all treatment plans are optimized for the best patient care to NM standard and patients are treated in a safe and timely manner
Performs and verifies accuracy of treatment plans and dose calculations
Perform special procedures as needed (e.g. Brachytherapy, TBI, TSEI etc).
Provide or measure in-vivo dosimetry using appropriate detectors; TLDs, diodes, MOSFETS, film, etc., and records the results appropriately and informs physicians of the results and takes appropriate action as necessary
Perform patient related work such as support in simulation, initial chart check, weekly physics check and end of treatment chart check
Be a clinical resource to radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and radiation therapists
Adheres to all radiation safety policies and procedures, ensuring the safety of patients, visitors and staff at all times
Provide assistance for accurate billing and data reporting
Collects data to support the measurement and tracking components of regional quality management and identifies areas for potential improvement and recommends corrective actions
Takes a regional leadership responsibility for process improvement
Qualifications
Required:
Master's or PhD degree in Medical Physics or equivalent.
Board Certified in Therapeutic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American College of Medical Physics (ABMP) or equivalent.
Licensed by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency.
Preferred:
A high degree of radiation oncology software and computer knowledge

Job Description

Lead Responsibilities:
Accepts responsibility to a limited area, shift or tasks assigned.
Continuously checks assigned areas to be sure work is being done properly and that personnel are following assigned work schedules. (When Supervisor not present).
Reports any pertinent information to the Supervisor as it occurs.
Instills a service-minded approach to all task performed by Environmental Services staff by demonstrating a personal enthusiasm and team spirit.
Motivates staff by communicating areas done well and areas requiring improvement.
Assists with training of Environmental Service personal as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
Assures staff are inspecting equipment for proper operation daily and reporting equipment in need of repair.
Maintains good public relations with all patients, facility and staff personnel. Answer day to day questions as they arise and pertain to general housekeeping.
If working the PM Shift, leaves notes in operation log for Supervisor to review ie, project work completed, work not completed or any unusual occurrences for the evening.
Laundry/ Linen:
Demonstrates proper infection control procedures when collecting soiled linen.
Maintains an adequate amount of sanitized linen in the linen room ad closets on patient units. Delivers under-pads and laundry bags to the floors as required.
Communicates with Superior laundry staff to adjust par levels as required.
Washes hospital owned dust mops.
Housekeeping/Technical Skills:
Working knowledge of carpet shampoo extractor, rotating shampooer, auto floor scrubber, wet/dry machine.
Operation of equipment as well as procedures involved in using them.
Infection control practices with regards to cleaning patient's rooms and hospital. Project management as it relates to floor care.

Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or GED or a minimum of 5 years work experience in a hospital in lieu of the diploma or GED.
Minimum of three years of EVS experience or working within a lead role with in a healthcare setting
Extensive knowledge of housekeeping techniques in a healthcare environment with specific emphasis on floor care maintenance.

General Summary:
The Postdoctoral Clinical Psychology Fellow in this role would join our clinical team at the Advocate Childhood Trauma Treatment Program (CTTP). CTTP has been providing care to children, adolescents, and families since 1979 to support their healing from experiences of abuse, maltreatment, and trauma. This one-year, full-time fellowship offers over 2,000 hours+ of training in a Community Mental Health setting. Fellows will manage a balanced caseload of trauma-focused and general behavioral health cases, utilizing Evidence-Based Practice. Fellows are expected to complete 20 billable patient hours weekly, receive weekly individual supervision, and gain supervisory experience with advanced externs and group didactics. Additionally, fellows will engage in APA-accredited internship program activities, including faculty meetings and community outreach. The fellowship follows a hybrid model, with two/three on-site days per week, starting September 2026.
Major Responsibilities:
Direct Service
Provides individual and family therapy services utilizing a solution focused, brief therapy framework under doctoral level supervision.
Interviews and evaluates patients, establishes diagnosis, and monitors patients' behavior. The treatment plan is developed collaboratively with the patient by defining goals, specific outcomes and timeframes for treatment. Intervenes psychotherapeutically to change attitudes, beliefs and behavior of patients to improve individual and family level of functioning.
Provides case management, outreach and aftercare services to patients.
Counsels crisis patients to stabilize patients' condition in order to prevent patients from harming themselves or others, and uses short-term crisis intervention techniques and/or referral to other support services.
Meets performance standards for direct staff hours (DSH) as outlined for position.
Develops and leads at least one treatment, skills building group, or adolescent IOP group.
Demonstrates ability to utilize and teach appropriate cognitive/behavior management and skill building techniques.
Communicates with other agency programs and/or human service agencies to obtain all relevant patient information, refers patients and consults with other staff regarding patient progress.
Consults with regard to crisis services.

Job Description
The
Resource Coordinator, Rehab Services
(RC)
reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Rehab Services RC assumes a primary role in the supervision, development and implementation of department-related initiatives, and demonstrates team building skills to facilitate team engagement and growth.
This position includes direct patient care, mentoring, participation on appropriate committees and departmental process improvement initiatives.
Serves as a role model for all therapists and clinical interns in all aspects of professional, clinical, communication, education and leadership activities.
Collaborates with RS leadership to advance quality strategies, ensure a professional work environment, facilitate timeliness of services, and enhance patient satisfaction.
The RC places the needs of the patient and other customers as top priority and demonstrates the skills necessary to meet and exceed expectations.
Must possess a high degree of energy, resourcefulness, and reliability, as well as exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and professional manner. Must be able to maintain a good rapport with physicians, fellow employees in Rehabilitative Services, other departments, and the community. Must be able to supervise employees in a fair, objective, and tactful manner.
Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the manager and director, is actively involved in the operational aspects of patient care and department operations to support unit specific programs and organizational initiatives.
Maintains open lines of communication within Rehabilitative Services and with other departments and leaders in the organization.
Coordinates daily work activities of professional, technical, and non-technical employees including scheduling/assignments, vacation/education time, and schedule changes.
Enforces policy and procedures, trains new employees and monitors department education programs.
Ensures all patients are scheduled and receive the appropriate intensity of services by ongoing monitoring of schedules and billable standards set by department.
Assesses adequate staffing levels and participates in the employee interview process to ensure all candidates meet standards for hire. Assists Manager/Director in orienting new staff and completing the 90-day orientation and competency process for new employees.
Provides timely, positive, constructive feedback, and holds staff accountable for change as evidenced by observation and peer feedback and assists with completion of staff competencies.
Contributes information as part of the performance appraisal process. Works with the Manager/Director in addressing performance gaps as they occur with clear action plans and timelines for improvement.
Identifies potential problems or opportunities in processes or personnel and communicates them to the manager/director along with recommendations for improvements.
Assists with the development of policies and procedures that reflect current operational standards.
Participates in the planning, development and implementation of department and program related initiatives.
Assists with identifying and monitoring clinical metrics and compliance on an ongoing basis.
Models exemplary professionalism and team building skills to build partnerships and advance the team in providing patient centered care.
Fosters a culture of respectful communication by listening, asking for input, open discussions, and timely acknowledgement of individual and team contributions.
Uses effective service recovery skills to solve problems or service breakdowns as they occur, keeping leader apprised of any issues.
Provides input for equipment and major purchases decisions. Authorizes purchase of supplies.

Instruction & Supervision
Participates in the fieldwork education process by establishing a supportive environment that facilitates the pursuits of learning. Supervises, mentors and provides education/instruction to facilitate professional growth of other associates, including technicians and para-professional staff, respecting diverse opinions and styles. Educates and provides consultation to consumers and the public regarding the roles of the therapist and therapist assistant, as well as prevention and wellness services, including screenings and health promotion.
Direct Patient Care: Evaluations & Treatment
Performs all functions of a staff Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist at an advanced/expert level and meets all requirements of that position.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in a clinical field (e.g. Occupational Therapist, Physician Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist)
3 years of experience in field of expertise
Licensed in the state of Illinois in either Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist.
BLS from American Heart Association upon hire
Preferred:
Master's Degree: Preferred in a relevant field (of equivalent experience and demonstrated ability, e.g. Psychology, MHS, MOT, MPT); or Specialty Certification
Outpatient Physical Therapy experience

Description
This is a Full Time position at 40 hours per week located at the Grayslake clinic for Family Medicine. Schedule is Monday through Friday, hours will vary between 7:30am-5:00pm. Previous Pediatrics experience and being bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

The Triage Nurse provides clinically expert triage service within a physicians' practice. In their role, triage nurses serve as liaisons between patients and physicians, assessing and determining the acuity of patients' symptoms and communicating these to the physicians as appropriate. They provide education to patients and to staff concerning clinical issues. Triage nurses must demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills and the ability to function as part of a highly effective team that consistently puts "Patients First."
Responsibilities:
* Establish positive first impressions with patients and customers, establishing a role as patient advocate.
* Triage all incoming telephone calls and electronic messages, prioritizing and resolving, involving the provider as appropriate, successfully completing the communication cycle.
* Document all communications in the electronic medical record.
* Schedule patient for visit with provider when telephone assessment indicates this.
* Assist in obtaining appointment for patients with specialists within NM.
* Coordinate emergency and hospital transfers, including paperwork and telephone communications.
* Administer medications and treatments in accordance with Nursing Standards and as ordered by the provider.
* Provide education to patients and staff concerning clinical issues.
* Assist in coordinating and monitoring activities of clinical staff to ensure adequate coverage and adherence to OSHA and CDC guidelines.
* Assist in orientation of new staff members.
* Perform other duties as assigned; may include:
* Assist in specific process improvement projects.
* Administer intravenous and injectable medications to adult, geriatric and wheelchair bound patients. Must demonstrate competency for age related responsibilities.
* Quality control must be maintained during all aspects of patient care. The triage nurse ensures that all exam rooms and equipment are maintained according to OSHA and CDC guidelines.
* Participates in departmental quality improvement activities.
* For triage nurses in the Immediate Care Clinics (ICC), float to other ICCs/departments.
Qualifications
Required:
* Graduate of accredited RN program.
* At least 3 years of experience in a hospital or outpatient setting.
* Current Registered Nurse License issued by State of Illinois.
* American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR certification.
