Job Summary
This Assistant Coordinator position (limited term appointment) is primarily responsible for supporting the administration of summer residential and commuter educational programs for academically talented youth in grades 6-12, with significant responsibility for day-to-day operations when the program is in session. This position will: manage program logistics, guide development of appropriate curriculum, provide instructional leadership, support outreach to schools and families, and participate in staff recruitment and hiring activities. The primary assignment may shift based on program needs. This position requires 24/7 on-call availability while the Summer Program is in session. Some weekend work is also required.
Position Details:
Position involves a M-F business day hybrid schedule for much of the year plus the following requirements: during the six weeks of the summer program, the position requires 24/7-on-call availability, weekend work, and extended work-day hours. The summer programs are based on Northwestern's Evanston campus.
Specific Responsibilities:
* Hiring staff, including reviewing applications, interviewing, offering positions and onboarding for instructional and residential staff
* Providing customer support (to parents, instructional staff, etc.) and maintaining good relations with all people and groups associated with the program and the Center assuring a positive representation of the Center;
* Coordinating, as assigned, the training of assigned temporary program staff (instructors, teaching assistants, residential staff, etc.);
* Implementing and managing day-to-day operations of the programs (site set up and on-site facilitation, schedules, supplies & instructional materials, supervision of staff, classroom observations, staff evaluations, handling of issues, etc.);
* Working with the Summer Program Coordinator to procure resources (classrooms, supplies, equipment, etc.);
* Supporting and managing recordkeeping for the program assuring accurate data are readily available such as student and staff files, enrollment information, program documents (includes reviewing, editing and proofing academic documents such as syllabi and narrative evaluations);
* Compiling data to generate reports and analyses to support projects in the Center (enrollment lists, residential lists, staff lists, etc.);
* Attending and preparing for meetings related to the program and the Center to develop skills of self and staff;
* Managing purchases and monitoring the budget for assigned programs.

Minimum Qualifications:
* A bachelor's degree in education, psychology, child and adolescent development, or related field
* 2+ years work experience in an education setting or non-profit educational agency;
* Demonstrated experience working with a clientele similar to CTD's: children, parents, teachers.
* Ability to respond appropriately to directions and feedback from supervisor, and interact in a professional manner with peers and subordinates in the organization
* The ability to prioritize, plan, organize, and schedule in an efficient and productive manner with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
* A master's degree in education, psychology, child and adolescent development, related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired;
* Demonstrated experience working with a population of advanced learners

Specific Responsibilities:
Production Preparation:
* Read scripts in order to have a knowledge of the needs of each production and to be able to provide input to the creative process with directors, designers, faculty and other staff members. Attend all necessary design presentations, staff meetings, production meetings, and preparation sessions.
Design & Construction Process:
* Work with graduate student and visiting designers, faculty design mentors, stitchers and Costume Shop Supervisor to establish priorities and provide expertise to create patterns, construct and/or alter all costume pieces and accessories for each production within budgetary and time constraints. Work with staff stitchers to ensure that costume elements are executed with high level of craftsmanship and efficiency. Attend fittings as scheduled/needed.
Supervision/Managerial:
* In conjunction with the Costume Shop Manager and stitchers, organize and manage the work of Graduate Assistants, work-study students, and undergraduate crews in costume production and check work progress with the intention of meeting production deadlines. Instruct and supervise graduate and undergraduate students in the proper use of all costume shop equipment and procedures. Provide input regarding workflow, need for temporary employees, and improvements in the production process, equipment, and facilities.
Facilities/Equipment:
* In conjunction with the stitchers, assist the Costume Shop Manager in maintaining and improving the areas of the physical plant directly related to costumes such as the shop, storage space, dressing and make-up rooms and laundry facilities. Will manage projects if deemed necessary.
Rehearsals & Performances:
* If necessary, attend work calls above regular daily schedule (technical and dress rehearsals, crew trainings) and in coordination with other staff members. Assist in the restoration of all costumes after a production closes. This includes dry cleaning, shipping, and restocking.

* Coordinate costume needs and procedures with house technician or representative when performances take place outside of the Center.

The Laboratory of Assistant Professor Xiaoyu T. Cai is actively recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Scholar to join our dynamic team at Stritch School of Medicine, Loyola University Chicago. Our research focuses on lung regeneration, aging, and related diseases, and we are currently investigating the following key topics:
* Molecular mechanisms governing the lineage plasticity of lung stem cells.
* Intercellular crosstalk between lung stem cells and their niche.
* Inflammatory memory of lung stem cells during recurrent infections.
Our research projects are highly translational and will be conducted in collaboration with esteemed scientists from Genentech Inc. and computational experts from the University of Pittsburgh. This collaboration offers a rich interdisciplinary environment, supported by extensive human sample resources that enable us to conduct groundbreaking translational research centered on human disease biology. Additionally, we utilize ex vivo multicellular organoid culture models and in vivo disease modeling in mice to enhance our studies.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
* PhD in Biomedical Science, Immunology, Regenerative Medicine, Biology of Aging, or a related field.
* Experience in stem cell-derived sphere cultures in the 3D matrix, mouse disease modeling in vivo and/or regulatory T cell research is preferred.

Position Summary:
Along with the Residential Director (RD) and the Assistant Residential Directors (ARDs), the central responsibility of the CPP Residential Advisor (RA) is to provide mentorship and support for the academic, experiential, and co-curricular components of the College Preparation Program. You will have a unique opportunity to bridge and cultivate learning inside and outside the classroom. CPP students and RAs are housed together on campus in the program's residence hall. RAs are expected to be engaging, visible, and accessible to students and the program on a daily basis throughout the summer. This position will work closely with study investigators, project managers, and other research personnel to design and implement data management and analytic strategies that align with the project's scientific objectives. The primary responsibilities include:
* Assisting with the design, testing, and maintenance of data collection instruments, participant tracking tools, and electronic data capture systems (e.g., REDCap).
* Carrying out ongoing data quality assurance procedures, including data cleaning, validation, codebook development, and documentation of data irregularities or protocol deviations.
* Performing secure data storage, organization, and retrieval processes consistent with institutional and federal compliance requirements (including de-identification, data transfer protocols, and controlled-access procedures).
* Supporting the establishment, maintenance, and sharing of research datasets for internal project use and for external collaborators, including preparation of well-documented, analysis-ready datasets.
* Collaborating with investigators and analysts to generate summary statistics or descriptive reports that inform study operations and manuscript development.
* Contributing to research dissemination through preparation of figures, tables, technical summaries, and methodological documentation for manuscripts, presentations, and grant reports.

Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine Office of Communications seeks a motivated, detail oriented and digitally fluent Communications Assistant to assist with a wide variety of administrative, internal communications, and digital web production assignments, including those that support the Office of Communications and Dean's Administration. Independently manages the medical school's mass email system, including updating and maintaining standard operating procedures, maintaining templates, designing, editing and proofing messages from the community, and formatting and producing digital weekly, monthly, and quarterly newsletters. In addition, this position provides digital production support and editorial assistance for the quarterly Northwestern Medicine magazine, several medical school newsletters, as well as photography and video. The Communications Assistant also assists with the team's administrative needs. This is a full-time position, and requires in-office presence on the Chicago campus three days per week.
