Job Description
Position Summary
The General Manager maintains accountability for the efficient and profitable operation of an Au Bon Pain café; the consistent delivery of “Guest First' service to all guests; the maintenance of cafe quality; the leadership and development of café employees; the creation and maintenance of an environment of trust, credibility dignity and respect. The General Manager routinely exercises independent judgment and discretionary powers in the day-to-day performance of job duties. He/she ensures that Au Bon Pain's policies and procedures are implemented and maintained in a consistent manner.
Key Position Responsibilities
Provides leadership in the café by ensuring the adherence to all Au Bon Pain guidelines and standards and by creating an environment that promotes team work and a guest-first philosophy.
Manages the café's financial performance to meet objectives and analyzes any variances and ensures financial controls are adhered to; ensures the integrity of all cash handling procedures; responsible for the accuracy of all cash and deposit transactions. Ensures all team members are trained on the cash handling policies and investigates any variances with the Area Director.
Determines daily and weekly staffing requirements and develops and posts master schedules; recruits, interviews and hires team members for the café and makes termination decisions where warranted. Ensures all team members are properly trained and conducts orientation.
Ensures proper sanitation and cleanliness standards are adhered to and directs the team on the proper procedures to maintain cleanliness standards. Ensures compliance with state, federal and local Board of Health requirements.
Maintains the integrity of the food cost management system; performs end of the week inventory and verifies the accuracy of all numbers submitted. Creates production planning amounts and reviews with Area Director; responsible for the accuracy of all food and beverage orders and ensures the accurate receipt of delivery.
Ensures that Au Bon Pain guest-first philosophy is practiced by every team member in the café; responds to guest needs and coaches and directs the team to perform their duties to exceed guest expectations. Resolves any guest issues that may arise to maintain Au Bon Pain's quality standards.
Qualifications
A BS/BA degree is strongly preferred; a degree in hotel/restaurant management is highly desirable.
A minimum of three years as a manager in a full service or fast casual environment
Must be ServSafe certified and have proven proficiency in all dimensions of restaurant
functions (food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, financial analysis).
Must possess excellent communication skills for dealing with diverse guests and staff.
Must have a proven ability to determine applicability of experience and qualifications of job
applicants to ensure high performing teams, and must possess strong computer and mathematical skills.

Nothing Bundt Cakes is looking for a Bakery Manager with a warm, outgoing personality, solid organizational skills, tireless work ethic, and hunger for learning to keep our great momentum going!
The Bakery Manager will initially work in each department, developing a level of understanding of the department and proficiency in the skills required in those departments. The individual will progress to working alongside our existing Bakery Manager, Area Operations Manager, and/or owners to learn the management and leadership side of the business. Finally, the Bakery Manager will manage shifts unaided.
This is a special opportunity for the right individual and could open many doors for additional opportunities as our business grows.
The Bakery Manager will earn a salary between $45,000 - $50,000 per year to start, depending on their experience, drive, ability to learn quickly, and desire to improve. Additional compensation and other benefits are available, including paid vacation, monthly performance bonuses, mileage reimbursement, and other perks. Medical, dental, and vision benefits are available after a short period.
The Bakery Manager will learn to develop and maintain an environment where there is a strong commitment to Making Genuine Connections while focusing on providing the best service and highest-quality products to our guests. Our Bakery Manager will learn to coach a team and manage a schedule of 15-25 employees and ensure smooth and efficient operations in both the back and front of house. Our Bakery Manager will learn to oversee the baking, frosting, utility, crafting, and guest service departments, among other duties, ordering ingredients and supplies weekly, spearheading marketing and event efforts, and greeting the world with a bright, friendly smile.

Key Responsibilities:· Accountability: Full responsibility for developing and maintaining a friendly work environment with a strong commitment to Making Genuine Connections, focusing on providing the best service and highest-quality products. Maintain accountability to set goals and demonstrate reliability.· Communication: Ensure effective communication with team members, Area Managers, Owners, Vendors, and Guests. Be responsive via text and other platforms and share updates honestly during weekly Area Manager visits.· Training and Development: Manage the onboarding and training process. Select the best trainers for new hires and develop future leaders. Provide continuous coaching and support to team members.· Operations: Lead and manage a team of 15-25 employees, ensuring smooth and efficient operations in both front and back of house. Oversee baking, frosting, utility, crafting, and guest service departments. Maintain bakery cleanliness and manage inventory, ordering ingredients and supplies weekly.· Guest Service: Ensure superior guest experience by minimizing wait times and delivering excellent service. Represent the bakery professionally and handle guest interactions with a positive attitude. Follow Guest Service Brand Standards and lead by example. · Financial Performance: Manage the profitability of the bakery. Hit COGS and labor percentage goals while minimizing waste. · Marketing and Events: Spearhead marketing efforts and coordinate events. Be aware of all promotions and offers.· Reporting: Complete all required reports and trackers accurately, including schedules, sales reports, labor reports, etc.· Independence: Manage the bakery independently without needing assistance for shift coverage. Develop solutions for bakery problems autonomously.· Holiday/Event Execution: Manage high-volume days effectively. Stay calm under pressure and ensure adequate inventory and staffing during peak times.· Flexibility: Be open to working any day/time the bakery may be short-staffed. Assist at other locations or travel for training/meetings as needed.· Team Management: Coach the team effectively and lead by example. Make decisions about team fit and part ways with team members when necessary.· Genuine Connections: Connect with the team and ensure they are receptive to your leadership. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

Upholds NbC's image and brand
Keeps case in retail area stocked with Bundtlets, 8”, and 10” cakes, and back-up sample trays
Maintains par levels in cooler for case cakes, assorted Bundtini packs, and sample trays
Folds cake boxes
Introduces walk-in guests to our bakery and provides guest tour presentations
Assists guests with walk-in orders while using creative celebration solutions
Suggests balloon sales, appropriate retail items, and up-sells with candles and cards
Assists phone guests by placing incoming orders
Acts as last line of defense for ensuring brand standards are met
Operates point of sale (POS) system with accuracy and efficiency
Gathers guest email addresses
Maintains a strong knowledge of NbC's products, prices, and promotions
Keeps retail area clean, swept, and neatly merchandised
Dusts all retail surfaces, including all counter tops, and POS stations
Performs duties assigned by Crafting department such as fluffing bows and making design pieces
Assists other departments as necessary
Candidates must be able to lift 50 pounds.
