**Position Summary** **:**
The Assembler is responsible for visually inspecting and assembling small machined components. The use of various tooling is required to remove loose or fixed burrs, cleaning of sharp edges, and polishing and blending machined surfaces of the medical device(s). - **Assembler II:** All of level 1 plus added complexity in tasks, such as but not limited to the assembly of Revere, Revolve, Creo, Ellipse, Quartex, Protex, and Uniplanner screws, as well as Troch Nails
- **Assembler III:** All of levels 1 and 2, as well as Coalition MIS and AGX, Independence, Hedron, Corbel and Sustain product lines. Truss Plates and Providence plates are included as well. Must also be able to pin parts, and set-up and operate the staking press.
- **Assembler IV:** All of levels 1 - 3 and proficient at assembling Magnify, Altera, Sable, Fortify, Aerial, Monument, Renegade, Trans M, Rise, and Elsa product lines.
**Essential Functions** **:**
+ Visually inspects of machined components using stereo-microscope
+ Measures and inspects medical device products in accordance with manufacturing specifications
+ Assembles sub-components into finished assemblies following established procedures
+ Utilizes hand tools including but not limited to deburring knives, files, and pneumatic tools to remove burrs and assemble parts
+ Visually inspects utilizing illumination devices & microscope to view internal areas of components to ensure they are adequately deburred
+ Escalates problems/issues to the Assembly Supervisor
+ Accurately completes all quality documentation and inspection sheets
+ Embraces 5S, Lean Management, GMP's and company directives each day
+ Follows all verbal and/or written instructions such as blueprints, traveler, work instruction, process specifications, sketches, and direction from supervisor in completing a variety of assembly and inspection tasks
+ Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies

Scope
Under general direction from the Production Supervisor, the Assembler is responsible for safely assembling finished product using components, sub-assemblies, fasteners and packaging material following all SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) and compliance with all quality and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
* Review and follow all SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), Work Instructions, and/or drawings to determine required assembly finish on product, pack and any special options to completion.
* Check and maintain accurate inventory of sub-assemblies, parts and fasteners to complete production orders.
* Ability to safely operate power and hand tools to complete assigned tasks, as well as operate controls and safety stops on machines.
* Follow all Company safety policies, rules and procedures at all times; maintain a strong safety mindset. Always wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for work being performed.
* Accurate completion of all documentation and production reporting following Company and Quality guidelines. Maintain accurate record of time spent and material used within established standards.
* Perform basic arithmetic calculations for accurate production reporting.
* Maintain a clean work environment aligned with Company standards.
* Operate scan guns for production order processes and inventory.
* Work and communicate in a team environment and/or independently as needed to achieve successful production and quality goals.
* Promptly raise any safety, quality or production issues to appropriate parties, and work with support functions to quickly resolve issues.
* Ability to cross train and rotate between various areas within the department throughout the shift.
* Meet all production output goals as aligned with PPLH (Parts Per Labor Hour) standards and budget targets.
* Assist with training new full time and/or temporary employees as needed in compliance with all safety, quality and production policies, rules and procedures.

* Assembler I - Entry level position; can assemble, test, calibrate where applicable 25% or better of all products within respective cost center.
* Assembler II - Previous manufacturing experience preferred; can assemble, test, calibrate where applicable 50% or better of all products within respective cost center.
* Assembler III - Previous manufacturing experience preferred; can assemble, test, calibrate where applicable all products within respective cost center. Can assemble, test, calibrate where applicable at least 25% of production in non-assigned cost centers. SME (Subject Matter Expert) for assigned area(s) of responsibility.

* Previous manufacturing experience in a regulated industry preferred.
* Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), e-mail and Internet a plus.

The Medical Device Assembler performs a variety of assembly operations in our clean room. Assemblers will be able to complete the following:
Essential Functions
Assemble parts according to instructions and training

Be able to read some drawings, measure and cut fibers to specifications
Use a microscope for some operations
