Manage patient flow to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Maintain and update patient records in the EHR system.
Handle medical correspondence, referrals, and prior authorizations.
Collect co-pays, process payments, and balance daily cash reports.
Clinical Support Take and record vital signs and patient histories.
Prepare exam rooms and assist clinicians during minor procedures.
Perform basic patient intake and documentation.
Process lab orders, specimens, or diagnostic test requests.
Insurance & Billing Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
Obtain pre-certifications and authorizations for procedures or medications.
Manage claims follow-up, corrections, and documentation.
Explain billing questions to patients.
What We're Looking For Education: High School or GED, required.
Graduate of an accredited medicalassistant program or a minimum of 2 year experience in a medicalassistant role that included medication administration, required.
Experience: Previous work in a medical clinic, preferred.
Licensure/Certification: BLS/CPR (or earned within 90 days of hire), required.
Annual UAP agreement with provider, required.
Additional Skills/Requirements (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.

Primary Purpose

Major Responsibilities:

Administers medications and vaccines safely following the rights of medication administration.
Performs other duties as assigned such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, safety/regulatory log completion, patient messaging, medication/supply ordering, appointment scheduling, and referrals.
Cross trained to perform duties that are relevant to specialty or clinic practice within the scope of the MedicalAssistant.
Demonstrates effective and timely communication, teamwork, and appropriate escalation.
Maintains a clean work environment ensuring instruments and equipment are cleaned appropriately. Ensures equipment and supplies are in working order, and areas are appropriately stocked.
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Greater Charlotte:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Completion of an accredited MedicalAssistant program or may have completed structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medicalassistant program or EMT.

What We're Looking For Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
Experience: Three year of relevant phlebotomy and/or specimen processing experience, preferred.
Licensure/certification/registration: Phlebotomy cert in facs where Phleb req in role, required.
For Phlebotomy: ASCP, ASPT, AMT, or NHA; required.
(New hire and/or new phlebotomist must obtain certification within 6 months of hire), required.
Additional skills required: Phlebotomy and performing specific tasks in Anatomic Pathology and or Microbiology are requirements of the role at some facilities.
The employee may be responsible for assisting in autopsy and preparing sections of body tissue for examination by a pathologist to diagnose body dysfunction and malignancy.
