The Robotic Automation Engineer will implement and support automated processes to drive improvements in safety, ergonomics, quality, productivity and cost reductions. The role heavily focuses on robotic solutions that often integrate with other types of equipment and at times can also involve non-robotic automation. What You Will Do
• Identify and conceptualize primarily robotic and at times other forms of automated solutions to drive improvements in safety, ergonomics, quality, productivity, and cost reductions throughout the Machine Division.
• Coordinate with vendors to quote and size automated systems.
• Manage projects from start to finish including Capital Appropriation Requests with project budgets, savings, ROI, timelines, runoff criteria, status reporting, system implementation, and all other project details.
• Program robotic systems, provide support and troubleshooting of existing robotic systems.
• Design customized fixturing and workholding for automated systems using Solid Edge.
• Create procedures, documentation, routings, and other necessary documentation for the manufacturing process.
• Collaborate and communicate cross functionally with all levels of the organization including but not limited to pieceworkers, R&D, QA, Supply Management, production departments, and executive management.
• Serve as the technical expert in robotics. Mentor and train others in the technical aspects of robotic systems.

Education & Experience Requirements
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years professional and on hands experience with robotic systems. Robotic welding experience is a plus.
• Proficient in conceptualizing automated solutions and implementing robotic and automation equipment.
• Proficient at higher level programing of Fanuc robots for purposes of auto recovery and other more complex routines.
• Excellent organizational skills as well as written and oral communication skills.
• Possess and apply strong problem solving skills with an analytical approach and attention to detail. Ability to apply continuous improvement methodology to solve real world problems.
• Ability to handle a variety of assignments and changing priorities.

We are seeking an experienced Controls Software Engineer for our Shelby Township, MI site with a background in industrial software development. The Controls Software Engineer will initially support active projects and then transition to completing projects directly. What You Will Do

This team is in a renovated Innovation Center in Decatur, GA, which houses state-of-the-art design validation equipment and facilities. Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
This role is responsible for test and measurement operations on Acuity Brands lighting products, components, and related materials. Additionally, this person will help maintain activity records, generate finished reports for the customer and forward finalized reports to the customer once the supervisor has reviewed and approved. Matrix partners for our Lab Technicians include engineers to modify products for additional testing.
Key responsibilities include:
* Certification testing to ensure products meet internal and external specifications (including any or all: UL, CSA, ANSI, and IEC). Testing is based on adapting the generic Certification body test method to the specific Acuity Brands product and includes set-up, testing, reporting, and interpretation of results to product groups. This includes testing of digital, analog, and mixed signal electronic circuits for lighting and lighting controls. Responsibilities require soldering and thermocouple adhesion to board level components such as LEDs and resistors.
* Validation testing of Acuity Brands products, including electrical, mechanical, environmental, FCC, IEC, and IEEE testing, is required for third-party safety verification.
* Photometric testing utilizing goniophotometers and integrating spheres to measure total flux output, spatial intensity distribution, and spectral distribution per IES, ANSI, and other applicable standards.
* Maintain lab space to meet 5S goals. Adapt and modify to improve testing performance as needs arise.
* Measure in accordance with KPI (key performance indicators) metrics. Shared accountability within the department to fulfill Acuity Brands Lighting/Lean initiatives. Use Lean tools and KPI measures to maintain a consistent flow through the lab and identify areas/activities in need of improvement.
* Develop new test methods per UL, CSA, ANSI, IEC and Acuity specific and create associated standard work and test procedures.
* Maintain test equipment and test equipment records.
* Train lab technicians.
* Automate test setups.

SCOPE: The Controls Engineer is responsible for development, troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving automation control systems in a state-of-the-art food manufacturing facility. Works with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and I.T. providing Automation/Controls skillsets to a state-of-the-art food manufacturing facility.
Interfaces with production operators, maintenance, management, and engineering groups to achieve the best possible solutions to process control problems.
Maintains and troubleshoots plant manufacturing operations to ensure a safe workplace.
Assists electricians, and maintenance personnel as needed.
Implements new technology to maximize plant efficiency.
PLC specification and programming, including HMI development.
Documents changes made to processes.
Specify, apply, diagnose, and calibrate process instrumentation. 4-20mA, HART, IO-Link.
Machine control circuitry and motor control design, including safety circuits and adherence to NEC/NFPA and UL codes.
Configure and control Variable Frequency Drives.
Electrical design, including creation of schematic diagrams.
Control System Programming: SCADA, HMI, and PLC code development to specification.

Completely understand and be able to troubleshoot existing systems that have automated control systems currently installed.
Research and develop for new processes and equipment.

Qualifications:
