Exec VP/CTO/Founder

Matt Callanan's LinkedIn

Matt Callanan is a 25 year software technologist, product architect, and operational leader who designed the technologies that propelled two companies to successful financial exits.

After earning his degree in Computer Science from Iona College in NY, Matt dedicated much of his time to mission work and the establishment of two very different after-school programs for at-risk youth before putting his education to work in 1994 by joining a technology startup in Portland, OR named Sound Response Corp. There he swiftly advanced from Software Engineer to lead Systems Architect on the technology platform which drove the company’s profitability and eventual exit in 1996 to Nextlink Communications (now XO Communications).

Shortly after Matt’s exit in 1998, he met David Resnick and the two of them started PreNet, Inc. As CTO, Matt innovated, architected, and, just nine months after they met, implemented an end-to-end interactive transaction ecosystem which integrated and leveraged proven technologies to pioneer a robust, high-performance, and very profitable nationwide financial network for the company which soon thereafter rebranded as PreCash, Inc. Matt holds two patents for the product and platform which remained the foundation for generations of product development to follow.

As CTO / CISO Matt drove product vision, technology strategy, and the cybersecurity program. In 2016 Matt devised an AI-based innovation to increase transaction performance, reduce cost, and allow the company, then rebranded as Noventis, Inc, to claim a unique capability and position in its market, setting the stage for consistently strong financial performance, growth, and eventual exit to WEX, Inc in 2019.

Matt, not shy about setting new standards which disrupt overly-accepted norms, prides himself professionally on embracing bold and innovative concepts, harnessing the enthusiasm for the value they provide, and converting that energy into a level of execution which produces value-enriching results.
