Essential Functions:
Generate complex reports and dashboards to track KPIs and metrics related to LTSS & Dual Program reporting impacting patient care, operational efficiency, and financial performance; utilizing statistical methods and machine learning techniques to identify trends, forecast future outcomes, and drive actionable insights
Design and develop dynamic, user-friendly dashboards using business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for stakeholders at various levels of the organization. Continuously enhance and update dashboards to ensure data relevance, accuracy, and timeliness
Analyze and evaluate current operations processes to identify opportunities for optimization, cost reduction, Case manager effectiveness and improved patient experience
Recommend strategies for improving operational efficiency and implementing changes to workflows in alignment with business objectives
Ensure high levels of data accuracy, integrity, consistency, and completeness through effective data governance practices
Work closely with data engineering teams to ensure data is sourced and integrated from multiple systems with high reliability
Develop LTSS & Dual Program reporting solutions that are scalable and include efficient database solutions for supporting reporting functionality
Work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to better understand data needs
Create ETL solutions for automated, scheduled data refreshes and regular report delivery
Develop and deploy Power BI dashboards which provide leadership with actionable insights that drive critical business decisions
Transform data sets and quantitative and qualitative analysis into usable and effective data for department leaders to make informed business decisions
Build complex analytic tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights and other key business performance metrics, historical trends or benchmarks
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery
Perform complex analysis on data to provide insight and address critical business questions
Transform data analysis and present findings in a consumable, appealing, and impactful executive level format
Create cohesive, cross-functional strategic plans for developing complex data solutions
Gather and analyze data, define and document business requirements, recommend technology requirements, review functional specs, and test relevant systems
Develop, document and perform testing and validation as needed
Conduct examination, testing activities, and explanation of complex data relationships to answer questions identified by the business/department
Create, implement and enforce coding standards for the team

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required
Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with ETL, BI, and database solutions is required
Experience translating business requirements is required
Extensive data analysis experience is required
Relevant healthcare or LTSS and/or Dual Eligible reporting experience is preferred
Familiarity with LTSS/DSNP data/report regulations is preferred

Support development and maintenance of hardware, software and other operating systems
Run software updates and backups
Perform research in computer operating systems
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
Ensure accuracy and follow documentation procedures for all work; maintain notebook of daily activities and provide weekly report of work
Other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a program related to the field of computer science or computer engineering with a superior academic record
General understanding of software development and knowledge of various coding languages
Attention to detail and effective time and schedule management skills
Effective organizing, planning, debugging, and problem-solving skills
Ability to adapt within a small team to support evolving customer requirements
Ability to execute instructions and communication in written, oral, and diagram form
Demonstrated strong writing, fact-gathering, and analytical skills
Basic computer and software skills including but not necessarily limited to Microsoft Office products (e.g., Outlook, Word, and Power Point)
Preferred Qualifications:
College sophomore or junior with a cumulative GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.5 or higher
Minor or dual degree in mathematics or physics
Knowledge or experience in C++ object modeling/software development, Python, HTML, Java, C#, MATLAB, and/or other coding languages
Knowledge or experience in CSS, Django, D3-data visualization, and Linux
Knowledge of computer operating systems
Ability to occasionally work 2nd shift preferred
Citizenship/Security Clearance Requirements:
U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
May be required to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Security Clearance

Hours:
The internship is a part-time, year-round position that requires a minimum of sixteen hours per week of work. The hours are flexible and they can change from one semester to another based on the students class schedule. The weekly hours can be adjusted to balance for the examinations, tests and project submissions.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
We are seeking Research and Development Undergraduate Engineer interns to join the Antennas, Computational Electromagnetics, and Propagation Department team of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State.
Students studying Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and/or Physics are encouraged to apply
You will:
Conduct EM and antenna analyses
Modify and test EM propagation and antenna models
Implement various methods from published works for EM propagation and antennas
Serve as active, hands-on, contributing members of the research staff at ARL.
Required skills:
Sufficient Physics, Mathematics, and /or Engineering course work covering basic electromagnetics, vector calculus, and applications
Familiarity with some of the following tools: Matlab; Python; and XFdtd/CST
