The Stock Clerk Lead will lead and execute night-shift operations at the Clothing Initial Issue Point (CIIP). The role ensures accurate receipt, storage, issue, turn-in, and inventory of clothing and related items for initial issue to personnel. The Lead will manage a small team during the night shift, enforce safety and quality standards, and collaborate with inventory control and property management sections to maintain accountability and readiness. Responsibilities + Lead and train night-shift stock clerks in CIIP operations, including receipt, storage, issue, turn-in, and returns of clothing items. + Coordinate nightly workflows to ensure timely and accurate processing of initial issue requests and returns, maintaining required service levels. + Verify documentation and proper data entry in property book and inventory systems; ensure accuracy of issue/turn-in transactions, lot/batch control, sizes, and item condition codes. + Conduct nightly quality checks: inspect clothing items for serviceability, defects, tags, and sizing accuracy; quarantine or report non-conforming items per policy. + Perform cycle counts and audits during the night shift; assist with discrepancy investigations and corrective actions. + Manage stock levels, storage layout, and FIFO/FEFO principles to optimize space and reduce damage or loss. + Ensure proper handling, packaging, and labeling of issued clothing to prevent misallocation and ensure smooth handoffs to recipients. + Enforce safety, security, and PPE requirements; lead by example to promote a safe working environment and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs). + Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members; conduct daily briefings on workload, priorities, and any issues. + Collaborate with CIIP leadership, property book office, maintenance, and security to resolve issues impacting night operations. + Maintain accurate records of transactions, rejects, shortages, and return-to-stock activities for nightly reporting. + Assist in developing and updating SOPs, checklists, and process improvements for CIIP night operations. + Support continuous process improvement initiatives to reduce cycle times and errors.
