Temporary position from 3/7/2022 to 11/14/2022Methods of performing tasks are usually left to the judgment of the employee with an administrative supervisor available for assistance if needed. Work is performed under general direction and is reviewed upon completion.Duties and Responsibilities:1.) Plant seedlings by hand, digging, bending over and carrying 50 pounds continuously;2.) Dig, cut and transplant seedlings, cuttings, trees and shrubs;3.) Hand tie mature trees in preparation to dig.4.) Hand tie mature trees with spade shovel;5.) Package hand dug trees, and shrubs for shipping and role 150-350 pound root ball out of hole.6.) Feel and observe plant leaves and note their coloring to detect the presence of insects or disease;7.) Hand loading of root balls and container plant on to skid loader and hand stack in trailers;8.) Harvest plants, and transplant or pot and label them;9.) Operate tractors, skid loaders, excavators and other farm equipment to cultivate, harvest, plant, and move landscape stone and nursery stock, also loading and unloading of nursery stock and stone;10) Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, peat moss, and other materials to condition soil, using wheelbarrows or carts and shovels;11) Move containerized shrubs, plants, and trees using wheelbarrows or tractors; 12) Plant, weed, fertilize, and water plants, shrubs, and trees, using hand tools and gardening tools;13) Regulate greenhouse conditions, and indoor and outdoor irrigation systems;14) Sow grass seed, or plant plugs of grass;15) Tie and bunch flowers, plants, shrubs and trees, wrap their roots; and pack them into boxes to fill orders;16) Clean work areas, and maintain grounds and landscaping;17) Fold and staple corrugated forms to make boxes used for packing horticultural products;18) Maintain and repair irrigation and climate control systems;19) Maintain inventory, ordering materials as required;20) Provide information and advice to the public regarding the selection, purchase and care of the products;21) Sell and deliver plants, shrubs and trees to customers;22) Trap and destroy pests such as moles, gophers, and mice, using pesticides.In view of the statutorily established basic function of the Employment Service (ES) as a no-fee labor exchange that is as a forum for bringing together employers and job seekers, neither the Employment and Training Administration (ETA) nor the State Workforce Agencies (SWA) are guarantors of the accuracy or truthfulness of information contained on job orders submitted by employers.
