Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Operating excavators with precision to dig on grade around existing utilities and in a trench box.
Collaborating with your pipe layer, foreman, and superintendents to ensure safe execution and project completion per the plans.

SUMMARY OF DOZER OPERATOR AT LAYTON SERVICES
Accountable for operating a variety of heavy equipment but primarily bulldozers, for different tasks such as grading, land clearing, bulk dirt moving, and assisting in site development projects. Ensuring precise grading for roads, curbs, islands, and building pads with and without GPS. This role requires strong attention to detail and understanding of the job site safety practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate bulldozers to cut, grade, and level land according to project specifications.

POSITION DESCRIPTION DETAILS
In this role, the Heavy Equipment Operator must operator a variety of heavy equipment safely and effectively.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Operate heavy equipment (dozers, front end loaders, backhoes, excavators, grinders, compactors) efficiently and safely.
Produce a consistent quality product with no customer complaints.
Coordinate with Project Manager and transportation to ensure necessary equipment, fuel, tools, and materials are available.
Work directly with Heavy Equipment Shop to ensure all equipment is operating at a safe level.
Perform manual labor when necessary.
Complete daily inspection of equipment at start and end of shift.
Clean off machines inside and out daily (tracks, cab, lift arms, battery boxes, buckets).
Ensure equipment is fueled and serviced daily.
Complete daily equipment inspection sheet
Complete daily labor/equipment log/form

* At least 2 years' experience using heavy equipment
* High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
* Able to sit for extended periods in operation of equipment on varying surfaces (paved, dirt, multilevel)
* Able to climb up & down from cab heights with ease multiple times per hour
* Must be able to work safely in a busy mulch yard, judging distances and operating equipment with precision
* Must be able to work effectively in extreme outdoor climate(s) - cold, heat, rain, fog

Job Summary
Operators will operate a bulldozer in a rugged outdoor, unpaved environment to move bulk material throughout a manufacturing facility while adhering to safety policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities
Read job specifications to determine operator adjustments and material requirements
Observe equipment operation to detect machine malfunction
Perform routine maintenance to include lubricating, fueling and cleaning
Inspect and complete equipment report daily
Ability to move levers, shift gears, depress pedals and maneuver steering wheel to operator equipment
