Michael Ekkehard Hansen is the chief executive officer of Cengage Learning. Hansen specialises in the evolution of the educational publishing industry, especially the transition the industry is making from print to digital and the development of new digital product lines.

Simon Allen was named CEO of McGraw-Hill in October 2019. Previously he served as President of the company’s Higher Ed and International business units. He rejoined McGraw-Hill in March 2018. Simon has deep experience in educational publishing having led large teams across six continents focused on K-12 and higher education, as well as science, technical and medical digital and print products for professional, governmental and institutional markets. Earlier in his career, he held sales leadership roles with the Times Mirror Group in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East. Simon received his BA with honors from Middlesex University School of Business and completed Executive Education programs in Leadership and Strategic Management at the London Business School.

John F. Aiello is a President and Chief Financial Officer at eChalk and is based in New York. Kay Krafft is the CEO of the Bertelsmann Education Group. Until early 2014, he was Chief Investment Officer of music rights management company BMG. Kay has been instrumental in setting-up BMG as part of Bertelsmann, selecting and structuring a partnership with investment firm KKR late 2009. Since then, BMG has been built from a start-up to a major player in the music industry through acquisitions as well as the establishment of an international presence. Before joining BMG’s Executive Board, he served as EVP and global head of mergers and acquisitions at Bertelsmann. From 2000 to 2005, Kay Krafft was a partner at professional services firm Deloitte. Other experiences include a period with Clearstream, now owned by Deutsche Börse Group, another with private equity firm BNL (Beteiligungsgesellschaft Neue Länder) and with Treuhandanstalt (agency that privatised the East German enterprises). Kay graduated 1993 in Business Administration at University of Trier and Dublin City University.
