Mark joined as the company's chief executive officer and as a director in April 2018. With extensive experience serving technology markets, Mark has a proven track record of advancing growth initiatives related to cloud, SaaS, mobile, big data, and IoT solutions.

Prior to joining Nuance, Mark served as president and chief operating officer of NCR Corporation, where he oversaw sales, solutions management, business and product development, services and supply chain operations. Before that, he spent more than 20 years holding various leadership appointments at ADP, including president of global enterprise solutions, where he led a team of 20,000 employees, and managed a multi‑billion‑dollar portfolio across more than 100 countries.

Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in international finance and marketing from the University of Miami.

As senior vice president and CIO, Mark Sherwood leads the Global Technology Solutions group, which drives the effective use of information technology, security, and hosting to support agility and productivity across Nuance’s businesses. With a strategic focus on supporting the company’s global customer base and delivering superior outcomes, Mark oversees infrastructure operations, core data services, business systems, SaaS delivery, information security, and internal and external hosting while continually driving new innovation and a cloud‑first strategy. Prior to joining Nuance, he served as the vice president of IT at Symantec, and held numerous leadership roles at Cisco Systems.

Mark earned a BS in chemistry from the University of California, Irvine and holds an MBA from California State Polytechnic University.

Beth Conway joined as the company’s executive vice president and chief people officer in December 2018. She is responsible for the full scope of human capital disciplines for Nuance’s worldwide workforce.

Beth previously held numerous leadership roles at CA Technologies, most recently serving as senior vice president of people, and has a proven track record of creating and executing business‑aligned, holistic talent strategies. She is a leader in building high‑performance cultures where people can thrive and her work has resulted in numerous business and industry accolades.

Beth holds a B.A. in English from Siena College.

As the head of corporate strategy, Peter is responsible for advancing Nuance’s overall strategic direction and portfolio in line with emerging trends across our key vertical markets: healthcare, financial services, telecommunications, retail, and government. In addition, Peter is responsible for the creation and management of new strategic innovations focused on developing disruptive AI-powered solutions. Prior to assuming this role, Peter served as SVP of healthcare strategy and new business development, where he drove significant growth across the organization.

Prior to Nuance, Peter served as founder and president of Unveil Technologies, Inc., was the vice president of healthcare marketing and business development at Lernout and Hauspie, and was a founder of Articulate Systems. He also served as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. ​

Peter holds a B.S. from the University of Vermont in Business Administration.

As chief legal officer, Wendy Cassity is responsible for the oversight of all legal, corporate governance, intellectual property, and regulatory activities across the company’s global operations.

Prior to joining Nuance in September 2018, she was general counsel of Zayo Group, a publicly‑traded communications infrastructure company, as well as general counsel of a publicly‑traded natural resources company. Previously, she was in private practice as a corporate transactional attorney at both McDermott Will & Emery, LLP and Cravath Swaine & Moore, LLP in their New York offices.

Wendy holds a BA from the University of Arizona in English and history and received her JD from Columbia Law School.

Arthur Giterman is a SVP Finance and Chief Accounting Officer at NUANCE COMMUNICATIONS, INC. and is based in Burlington, Massachusetts. He has worked as Sr. Director of Finance / Revenue Accounting at NUANCE COMMUNICATIONS, INC.; Manager - Audit & Business Advisory Services / Transaction Services at Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC); and Revenue Accounting and Operations at Art Technology Group.
