The position requires the technologist to perform procedures in more than one modality. Therefore, the technologist will be multi-modality trained and/or certified in 2 or more of the following modalities: diagnostics, CT, MR, US, Dexa, or Mammo. This position included a $15,000 sign on bonus with a one-year commitment to OhioHealth Responsibilities And Duties: Conducts routine radiographic studies in diagnostics Conducts routine and specialized fluoroscopic studies utilizing digital fluoroscope equipment; maintains proficiency in each of these areas Provides radiation safety for operator and patient Places patient in proper positions for procedures, adhering to department policy regarding routine. OhioHealth is hiring a full-time, day shift procedural radiologic technologist at Dublin Methodist Hospital in Cath Lab & Interventional Radiology. The hours for this position are 7:00a-5:30p (four 10-hour shifts/week). The Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Interventional Cardiologist for diagnostic and interventional procedures in roles that include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating. The technologist must have knowledge of the X-ray equipment in use, hemodynamic monitoring, coronary and peripheral anatomy, and sterile technique. Responsibilities And Duties: 85% Radiologic technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Interventionalist in specific area as described above in summary for each area. 10% Greets patients upon arrival to department. Checks chart for required data (i.e., informed consent). Reports absences or abnormalities to RN/physician. Explains procedures, gives instructions, and answers patients' questions. Participates in room turnover and transporting of patients. (5%) Assists Radiation Safety officer in QA of labs and radiation protective apparel on regular basis. Performs tasks using radiation safety principles; checks lead aprons for tears; reports findings and removes inadequate gear from service; maintains accurate records or work with Radiology department to maintain records. Prepare patients and laboratory for procedures, observe/record patient condition, vital signs, and provide direct patient care pre, intra, and post procedure. Set up lab using sterile technique, prepare sterile pack of instruments and catheters, and drape equipment and patient to maintain sterile fields, prepare and calibrate equipment for procedure. Position patient on x-ray/Catheterization table, attach EKG, and provide comfort and teaching. Provide care appropriate to the age of patients undergoing catheterization (young adult to geriatric) and identify each patient requirements and age specific needs. Observe patient for possible discomfort, shortness of breath, chest pain, arrhythmias, allergic reactions, etc. Check vital signs as needed. Operate digital x-ray system positioning patient and setting x-ray technique assuring proper imaging. Acquires, processes, and analyzes images. May assess the IV site, and or start a new IV. Operate CD recording (electronic storage) systems for storage and instant reviewing and digital images used during procedures. Operate procedural Cath lab monitor/recorder including surface EKG, intracardiac EKG, intravascular/intracardiac pressure, cardiac output, etc. Operate Bloom, Cordis, and/or Medtronic stimulators during Electrophysiological procedures. Operate oximeter for the determination of oxygen content of blood. Perform data calculations of studies as directed by physicians, participate in computer data entry, maintain databases, and generate reports of studies done. Record all pertinent facts of each procedure done in laboratories. Assist in the storage and retrieval of patient data. Maintain and check function of equipment regularly, participating in quality control and quality assurance. Order and stock lab with supplies as needed for procedures.
