POSITION DESCRIPTION
HGL operates groundwater treatment systems for the US Army Corps of Engineers between north central New Jersey and southern New Jersey. The successful candidate will train under the current plant operator and be responsible for operation and maintenance of two groundwater treatment systems on a part-time basis with a minimum of 20 hours per week.
This is a remote work position in New Jersey and the candidate must have the ability to travel to work sites within the central part of the state, with travel to and around South Plainfield, NJ and Washington Borough, NJ. Travel expenses will be provided through mileage reimbursement or monthly stipend.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
The person hired for this role will be responsible for performing various field assignments on a part-time basis including operation and maintenance of groundwater treatment systems; site inspections and reports; collecting environmental samples; responding to alarms; overseeing subcontractors, assisting in preparation of required daily, weekly and monthly reports; and attending and participating in monthly progress meetings. The operator will be required to have an N-2 Industrial Treatment Plant License.

+ Operates and controls utility panels that monitor equipment to maintain utility services to the plants.
+ Maintains and records entries in logbooks, operating logs, and regulatory reports.
+ Oversees operations associated with an electrical power distribution panel.

+ Performs minor mechanical piping repairs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ A high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience in a multi-boiler high pressure steam plant.
+ Holds a Second Class Power Engineers License issued by the National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers, Inc. (NIULPE).
+ A working knowledge of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes for power boilers.
+ Some positions in this classification may require a valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record.

• Ensure project compliance with all local, state and federal rules and regulations.

Requirements
1-3 years of experience with landfill gas to energy or LFG to RNG.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Appropriate and professional oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities, including effective management of multiple priorities, strong organizational skills, maintenance of business relationships, and team building.

* Responsible for creating, revising, and reviewing Emergency Operating Procedures and Abnormal Operating Procedures to support safe, efficient, cost-effective operation of the Nuclear Generating Station Units.
* Responsible for reviewing design and license changes for procedure impact, performing 10CFR50.59 applicability reviews and Station Qualified Reviewer (SQR) reviews, and supporting outages and various special projects.
* Review system documentation including P&ID and design descriptions.
* Provide operability review for systems specifically during off-normal conditions.
* Assist in developing refueling sequences and ensure systems can accommodate shutdown and refueling operations.
* Directing operating shift personnel in the performance of plant duties including standing watch on rotating 12-hour shifts and coordinating and directing the operation of the nuclear power plant's systems. Shift work, continuous training with periodic examinations, and respirator qualification are all requirements of this position.

* Bachelor's degree (BS) or equivalent in engineering, engineering technology or physical sciences, or professional engineer license, and more than 1.5 years as a qualified non-licensed operator or a supervisor or manager in work control, operations, engineering, outage management, maintenance, radiation protection, chemistry, or accredited training at a comparable (BWR or PWR) facility. Managerial, staff engineer, or supervisor experience at non-comparable plant may be credited on a 1.5:1.0 basis (i.e., over 2.25 years required for non-comparable facility), and 3 years required for a nontraditional degree.
