Job Summary: The Mechanical Engineer Manager is responsible for leading the team that develops the mechanical hardware of OK International's next generation of products. These designs are required to address both internal requirements for reliability and cost, while also meeting the needs of the external customer for aesthetics and performance. This individual will report directly to the Director of Engineering. This position will guide the mechanical team for future product developments and improvements to the current state of the OK International product portfolio (Soldering Systems, Rework Systems, Valves and Valve Controllers, and Dispenser Controllers). The ME manager will focus on the development of the team members and refinement of the engineering systems, tools, and processes they use. Job Duties: * Lead the mechanical engineers to achieve new product launches on time and within budget. * Involvement in the generation of system and sub-system specifications, proof of concepts, prototypes, and final product releases. * Confer with engineers, customers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products. * Direct and coordinate manufacturing, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements. * Ensure conformance to design specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards. * Analyze and test vendors' and competitors' product offerings. * Compile data and write reports regarding potential and existing engineering projects and studies. * Mentor team members and create a stimulating work environment that fosters growth. * Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation. * Create detailed designs of products with a focus on mechanical parts and assemblies. * Design, implement, maintain, and improve equipment, components, products, and systems. Work Experience & Education Requirements: * 5+ years leading engineering teams with direct reporting. * Broad experience developing products that contain mechanical and electromechanical parts, components, and devices. * 7+ years of active experience in mechanical engineering and development of electromechanical products or tools. * 5+ years designing in SolidWorks. * Strong analytic background, with detailed understanding of mechanical design for different production methodologies (i.e., injection molding, casting, machining, stamping, etc.). * Demonstratable experience with ergonomics and industrial design. * Experience with systems that require understanding of pneumatic, fluid dynamics, and thermal dynamics is desired * Experience with temperature control, position control, and fluid dispensing control preferred. * BS in Mechanical Engineering with 10 years minimum experience involving job responsibilities mentioned above. * MS in Mechanical Engineering is a plus. Skills Required: * Strong understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, design, and analyses. * Advanced level SolidWorks CAD abilities including electrical routing and thermal simulation. * Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 standard for dimensioning and geometric tolerances. * Nominal skills with MS Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. * Understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. * Ability to clearly document and explain system implementation and algorithms to non-technical individuals understanding. * Ability to analyze engineering drawings, technical publications, professional journals, and governmental regulations as appropriate. * Ability to lead and inspire team members to achieve goals. * Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Strong interpersonal communication skills. * Ability to work independently and with interdepartmental teams under time pressure. * Strong analytical and logical critical thinking skills. * Sound judgment.
