Prepare estimates of quantities of fabricated reinforcing bars, mesh, accessories, and related products required for projects on which Nucor Rebar Fabrication seeks to offer a bid. Continue and progress through the NRF Estimator Training Program.
Demonstrate proficiency at Takeoff Software.
Demonstrate proficiency at aSa Estimating Software.
Build estimating skills and the ability to review plans to assist in the assessment of the project, project scope, and bidding strategy with trainer's and Estimating Lead guidance.
Prepare timely estimates of the quantities of fabricated reinforcing bars, mesh, accessories, and related products required for bidding projects.
Progress in knowledge to increasingly more complex and varied projects.
Complete more complex projects as determined by the Estimating Lead with little supervision by the end of the period.
Prioritize your workload and capacity and be able to effectively communicate that to the Estimating Lead.
Understand how to track plan revisions/bid updates against previous work.
Communicate effectively and professionally with sales teammates regarding all aspects of the estimating and bidding process.
Demonstrate the ability to self-review your work to verify scope, completeness, and accuracy.
Maintain a working knowledge of the CRSI Manual of Standard Practice, Reinforcing Anchorages and Splices, and the Placing Reinforcing Bars manuals.
Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Must be available to work on-site during standard office hours.
Preferences:

Two-year technical degree from an accredited school or college
Previously demonstrated reinforcement bar estimating experience

Oversee the productivity and work quality of the detailers to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and quality of presentation.
Manage the assignment of detailing to outside vendors so that high-quality purchased detailing is obtained at fair rates.
Manage the contacts between detailers and customers' offices or job sites so that accurate information regarding delivery requirements is always at hand and so that problems can be resolved or avoided.
Review all change orders to contracts being detailed in-house or by outside vendors for profitability, ensure customers are properly advised of, obtained approval, and invoiced in accordance with contractual requirements.
Review all customer back-charges on contracts detailed in-house or by outside vendors; coordinate with sales personnel so that fair and reasonable settlements can be negotiated and so that similar problems do not repeat.
Review and approve all invoices from vendors (post-sale) as required.
Manage the performance appraisal process and recommend appropriate salary adjustments as needed for all detailing personnel.
Provide consulting services to other Nucor Rebar Fabrication locations as appropriate.
Manage the recruitment, hiring, orientation, and training of new detailer employees and support personnel.
Keep apprised of any technological developments in detailing methodology and equipment and make appropriate recommendations to management so Nucor can detail as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Produce reports as requested by management.
Possess a thorough knowledge of CRSI and the Manual of Standard Practice.
Perform other duties as requested by the Branch Manager.
Minimum Requirements:

Responsibilities:
Drive timely responsiveness to all viable quotation opportunities.
Manage and assist in developing proper quotation guidelines with respect to any applicable contracts, lead times, documentation packages and/or inspection and testing plans.

Requirements
