The Combustion HTT Technician operates a furnace or direct fired heater in response to the client's request. A combustion technician safely and efficiently operates the equipment to maintain the desired output. The combustion process within the confines of the desired area must be controlled while the combustion equipment output changes in response to load demands. Technician set up shall meet basic requirements of combustion control to meet the requirements regulating the quantities of fuel and air while achieving optimum combustion and maintaining safe conditions for operators and equipment. Under the direction of the Machine Shop Supervisor, the machinist is assigned to drilling flanges, tube sheets and baffles used in fabrication and/or repair of shell and tube sheet exchangers. Major Duties: Sets up job(s) to be drilled. Keep log of time spent on jobs. Operates manual vertical boring mill, lathe drill press and milling machines. Creates ring grooves and reams holes. Check hole dimensions as required. Sharpens drill bits, removes shavings as needed, refills coolant tank as needed. Performs assigned tasks in a safe manner, avoiding all unsafe practices.
