Safely operate our furnace and grinding equipment to meet quality & production goals
Safely operate plant vehicles forklifts and front-end loader in support of production activities
Perform basic analytical testing to confirm quality of material in processes
Interpret analytical data and adjusts processes to maintain quality output
Monitor levels of product within process equipment and record data within computer database and fill out paper logs during daily operations
Housekeeping and basic maintenance of production area
Participate in all Health, Safety and Environmental activities, monthly plant audits, accident investigations and Hazard IDs

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC professional who can program, set up, and run CNC machines independently while providing technical leadership within a small, highly skilled machine shop.
The ideal candidate will take ownership of CNC programming, complex setups, process development, and first-article execution in a high-precision manufacturing environment. This individual will work directly from engineering drawings and solid models to create, optimize, and validate machining processes for parts manufactured to extremely tight tolerances, similar to those found in engine or weapon-system components.
This position plays a critical role in supporting current production while helping lead and develop others as the shop continues to grow.
Duties:
Independently program, set up, and run CNC mills and lathes to produce precision machined parts.
Develop CNC programs using G- and M-code, CAM software, or a combination of both.
Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and solid models to determine machining strategy.
Lead complex machine setups and first-article runs.
Select tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters to achieve tight tolerances and repeatable results.
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process issues to maintain quality and efficiency.
Perform in-process inspection and validate parts meet strict dimensional and quality requirements.
Create and document machining processes and operator instructions.

Requirements:
Extensive hands-on experience as a CNC programmer (not operator-only).

Experience with CNC mills and/or lathes in a precision manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with G- and M-codes, CAM software, or both.
Strong blueprint reading skills and solid understanding of GD&T.
Demonstrated experience machining tight-tolerance components.

Job Duties for Mill Operator:
Operate mill equipment to process and shape steel according to production requirements
Monitor machinery during operation and make basic adjustments as needed
Load and unload steel materials using cranes, forklifts, or other material-handling equipment
Inspect materials for quality, dimensions, and defects
Read and follow work orders, production schedules, and safety instructions
Perform routine equipment checks and report mechanical or safety issues
Position Qualifications:
Basic mechanical skills and ability to make minor machine adjustments
Strong attention to detail and quality control skills
Ability to follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
Physical ability to lift, move, and handle steel materials as needed

Key Responsibilities
Operate CNC machines to produce components according to specifications.

Interpret blueprints and use basic measuring instruments.
Complete all necessary documents accurately and thoroughly.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area in accordance with 5S standards.

Skills/Competencies
Ability to follow and interpret verbal and written work instructions.

Essential Functions
* Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to set up and run all shop support equipment and at least one of the following standard shop machines; mill, lathe, grinder, and CNC machinery.
* Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
* Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines, such as mills, lathes, jig borer, shaper, and grinders.
* Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
* Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media as required.
* Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications, using standard and precision measuring instruments.
Requirements
* In-depth knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
* Expertise in blueprint reading, both piece part, and assembly.
* Proficient use of standard and precision measuring devices.
* Skilled in shop math, including geometric, trigonometric, and algebraic functions.
* Advanced knowledge of machining/manufacturing processes, assembly procedures, and mechanical functions.
* Ability to develop specifications from general information and draw sketches of parts or products to be fabricated.
* Demonstrable knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools, and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
* Additional work hours as needed and required.
* Additional Duties as assigned.
* Travel on an as required basis.
