    Job Description What your day looks like You arrive, review drawings, pull materials, and stage them for smooth flow. You set up and operate Haas equipment and the other machines in the cell, keeping productivity and quality high. Throughout the shift you document processes, coach junior mechanics, and keep the team aligned on safety and metrics. When leadership is away, you step up and guide the work to plan. Core impact Operate Haas equipment and all assigned department machines to maximize throughput and quality. Pull and deliver materials to departments from drawings and tickets; channel completed parts to the next operation/staging. Fabricate pipe and tie rods for Assembly and Part Order Departments. Train and mentor junior mechanics; document processes for knowledge capture and training. Provide day-to-day direction when Station Lead or Team Leader is not available. Understand, update, post, and explain department metrics; complete required paperwork and online data entry. Drive 5S, safety improvements, and continuous improvement projects; support root cause analysis of quality issues. Work across stations and on cross-functional teams to meet plant objectives. Perform other duties as assigned by plant leadership. Solid math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) including fractional calculations and fraction-to-decimal conversions. Competence with measuring tools: tape measure, micrometer, and protractor. Knowledge of continuous improvement tools; able to support root cause analysis of quality issues. Thorough understanding of machine-operation hazards with a demonstrated commitment to safety and standards. Product knowledge of BAC's models and parts; familiarity with MSD's. MS Excel competency, including updating data and generating metrics in pre-formatted spreadsheets. Flexibility to work at multiple stations and adapt to change; experience on cross-functional teams. A minimum of one year of experience in the department is preferred. Reporting This role reports to the Station Lead and Team Lead of the Parts Department. Working Conditions (verbatim) WORKING CONDITIONS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Standing is to be expected up to 80% of the time. Additional activities include: walking, reaching, bending, stooping, and sitting. Some weekend overtime is to be expected. Working temperatures include both wide fluctuations within the plant as well as ambient outside temperatures.
