ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Develop and write CNC programs using Mastercam software for various machining operations (milling, turning, etc.) on multi-axis CNC machines. * Interpret engineering drawings and 3D models to determine machining requirements and optimal tool paths. * Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters for different materials and geometries. * Simulate and verify CNC programs to detect and correct potential errors, collisions, or inefficiencies before actual machining. * Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and production staff to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and improve part quality and production efficiency. * Perform basic machine setup and operation for program testing and validation. * Document program changes, setup sheets, and operational procedures. GENERAL: * Required: Certificate in Mastercam. * Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming. * Ability to interpret engineering drawings featuring GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). * Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to [e.g., 30-50] pounds. * Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and machinery. The Machinist must demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of blueprints, shop math, and the ability to transfer files from a computer to a numeric controller. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Set up and operate production machine tools. * Select and mount appropriate tooling for machining operations. * Determine the appropriate feed and operating speeds for efficient machining. * Perform cut off, trimming, counter sinking, drilling, and other machining operations. * Verify the dimensional accuracy of machined parts using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. * Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand machining requirements. * Utilize shop math skills to perform calculations and ensure accurate machining processes. * Transfer computer files to the numeric controller to initiate machining operations. * Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity. * Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure proper functioning. * Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment. * Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and timelines. * Identify and communicate any issues or concerns regarding machine performance or product quality. * Maintain accurate documentation of machining operations, including production logs and inspection records. * Stay updated with the latest machining techniques, technologies, and industry trends * Work independently to prioritize and complete assigned tasks efficiently. * Inspect finished parts for defects, imperfections, or deviations from quality standards. * Report any issues or deviations to the supervisor or appropriate personnel. * Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored after use. * Follow all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations. GENERAL: * High School diploma or equivalent. * Minimum of 5 years of machining experience. * Ability to read and interpret work instructions and technical diagrams. * Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. * Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision. * Effective verbal and written communication skills in English. * Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. * Willingness to join and comply with union rules and regulations. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work. * Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
