Principal Duties and Responsibilities: * Uses Virtual GIBBS programming software to set up and execute fabrication tasks * Understanding of G-Code. * Inspects first items and random items on jobs that involve quantities to ensure accuracy and quality. * Use tools (e.g., gauges, optical comparators) to perform inspections of fabricated items in progress. * Troubleshoots and accurately diagnoses complex problems. * Adds programs to the library bank from GIBBS program for later use. * Uses Documentum to locate and review information. * Prioritizes effectively and responds quickly to situations as needed. * Assists with on-the-job training of less experienced personnel. * Communicates and shares information with group members to support their ability to work accurately and efficiently. * Provides input to engineering regarding design and materials as requested. * Communicate with engineers to ensure the accuracy of work products. * Proficiency in running and programming all CNC Mills and Lathes in designated areas. Requirements: * High School Diploma or equivalent and AAS or certification in Machine Tool Technology. * 2+ years of relevant experience on HAAS, DMG Mori Seki, or Doosan. * Virtual GIBBS programming software experience. Preferred: * Coordinate Measuring Tools (CMM) certification. The Lead Machinist/CNC Programmer is responsible for guiding a team in the production of filter components, ensuring all machining processes meet quality standards and are completed on schedule, and offering a mix of technical expertise in machining procedures and leadership skills to manage and train team members. Duties / Responsibilities Supervise Machining Process Oversee the daily machining operations to ensure that the team follows proper procedures and safety protocols. Read, understand, and consistently follow job cards, operating procedures, and engineering drawings. Distribute work among all machine shop employees to achieve daily production goals. Ensure that each employee has the proper tooling and training, and that their machines are operating properly. Escalate needs to the Machine Shop Manager, as necessary. Quality Control Inspect filter components for defects or inconsistencies. Team Leadership Train and mentor machine shop team members, providing guidance and support to improve efficiency and skill levels. Provide guidance, direction, and support to all employees in accomplishing their tasks properly. Ensure that all employees leave their workstation clean and organized. Manage proper evacuation when necessary and report emergencies to proper personnel Report all behavioral and performance issues to the Machine Shop Manager, to include all deviation from Company policy. Production Planning Coordinate with Machine Shop Manager to ensure that component manufacturing schedules are met, and materials are available. Assist Engineering with programming and setup of new R&D components on CNC machines using CAD/CAM system. Create and update setup sheets for new and existing components. Troubleshooting Identify and resolve issues in the machining process to include equipment malfunctions, tooling issues and/or material defects. Documentation Maintain accurate records of machining activities to include material certification documentation, component run-times, setup sheets, standard operating procedures, quality checks, and raw stock inventory management. Continuous Improvement Suggest and implement improvements to machining processes to enhance productivity and product quality. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area. Qualifications / Training Required High school education or equivalent, and 5+ years CNC machining and programming experience preferred. Multi-axis CNC programming experience a plus. Experience and knowledge with manual lathes. Proven record of technical trouble shooting and problem solving. Proficiency in reading blueprints, job cards, and technical drawings Strong knowledge of various machining processes and materials Strong attention to details and quality assurance skills Prior experience supervising others in a working capacity.
