Position Summary: Produces machined parts by operating, setting up and programming HAAS CNC mills & lathes, Flow Waterjet and Mitsubishi Wire EDM using Mastercam and SolidWorks to machine tools and parts for the prototype industry. Essential Job Functions: Set up, program, perform maintenance, and operate HAAS and FANUC CNC mills, lathes, and waterjet machines to make parts according to internal and customer standards based on engineering specs and blueprints Complete all job documentation Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on all machines Read and interpret prints and complete advanced calculations required for machining parts to specifications Check and inspect in process and finished parts Make offsets and change tools for wear to hold tolerances 2D and 3D programming in Mastercam Modify/manipulate geometry in CAD to change desired toolpaths Design, set up and machine fixtures to machine parts Confidently program 4 and 5 axis machines Follow all safety guidelines including proper use of PPE All other duties as assigned Qualifications: EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required, vocational training preferred CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: Forklift operator's license preferred. PAY - $29-$32 / hr. SHIFT - 1st (Mission): The CNC Programmer is highly-skilled in programming and operating CNC machinery, mills, lathes, EDMs, grinders and secondary machines to machine tools used in the manufacturing and production of piston rings. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Analyze a variety of specifications from blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualize product to be made. Must have knowledge to lay out stock, as well as set up and operate machine tools and hand tools. Fit and assemble components to make, maintain, and repair tools, jigs, fixtures, bushings, collars, gages, and mold patterns. Compute dimensions, decide on machining to be done, plan layout and assembly operations. Verify the dimensions, alignments, and clearances while using measuring instruments such as dial indicators, gage blocks, thickness gages, and micrometers. Adapt to new methods, processes, material, and equipment. Record data on employee time/job card. Report work shortages to Manager/Supervisor. Recommend production efficiency and quality improvements to supervisor. Comply with safety regulations and ensure cleanliness in tool and die area to include all tools, benches, and machines. Immediately report incidents and accidents in work area. Participate in an environment and culture that promotes safety in the workplace. Attends and contributes to department and Company meetings. Proficiency in setting optimal speed and feeds for material type, as well as cutting tools selection. Knowledge of internal combustion engines and related mechanical systems. Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills. A minimum of 2-3 years experience in programming CNC, Mills, Lathes, EDM, Grinders and secondary machines or equivalent course work through a technical trade school, preferred. Willingness to work various shifts and overtime as needed. Fluent in English with comprehensive speaking, writing, spelling skills.
