Uses a wide variety of precision measuring instruments; maintains accurate dimensional tolerances based upon drawings. Caliper/measuring devices experience required.
Selects the appropriate cutting tools to maximize efficiency and ensure quality of product.
Perform multiple manual equipment setups and machining operations to produce metal parts and assemblies on a production basis. All equipment is manually operated (not software driven).
Set up and operates a variety of manually operated machines, such as milling machine, drill presses, band saw, lathe, belt sanders, etc., to perform machining operations.
Fabricates complicated parts having many interrelated dimensions, compound angles, irregular surfaces, coordinate and exacting tolerances requiring the layout of parts, the selection and use of hand tools, and/or the setup and operation of various machine tools.
Improvises production aides as necessary to facilitate operations.
Reworks and calibrates production parts or assemblies and machine tooling as required; checks each component for accuracy.
Suggests changes in design involving productivity and process of manufacture to proper staff.
Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of industry, machinery, and techniques.
Paint product sub-assemblies and finished product using conventional spray booth with spray guns. Mix/prepare paint by hand.
Safely perform painting operations with minimal supervision.
Promote high standards of quality through instruction and by setting a good example for others to follow.
Follow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment such as paint sprayers.
Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools.
Follow standard operating procedures when using paint/paint strippers, other chemicals and use protective equipment as required.
Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of all applicable safety regulations and considerations.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two to four years related experience or equivalent.
Knowledge of proper use of measuring tools/gauges and cutting tools.
Understanding of blueprints and routers.
Knowledge of paint processes and products (lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics) is necessary.
