Development of the following skills will be expected: Calculating feeds & speeds, setup of complex parts, troubleshooting programming at setup, use of test indicators, first/last article inspections, and installing & troubleshooting machining attachments. Manufacture production and/or prototype devices/articles/customer products using manual and/or CNC/NC machine tools - Swiss, mill, lathe and EDM - applying industry standard machine tool techniques ensuring that the customer product requirements and Tegra Medical requirements are met while meeting the requirements of the quality policy and quality objective of Tegra Medical ISO 13485 quality management system. And to support the roll of Machine Operator. Role and Responsibilities Perform all Machine Operator functions Perform job assignments on manual and/or CNC/NC machines. Assist Machine Operators as needed by performing set-ups, offsets, and tool changes on both assigned machines and Operator-run machines to ensure product dimensions remain within tolerance. Responsible for production of quality products including inspection, measure, test and de-burr manufactured components/assemblies as instructed. Responsible for following Quality Policy, all quality system requirements and procedures and work instructions as well as any additional customer requirements. Responsible for Quality Objectives results of his/her work assignment area. Responsible for following company safety and environmental procedures/practices. Responsible for ensuring the work area is kept clean and organized at all times. May perform and or assist in scheduled preventive maintenance. Performs other tasks and follow written/verbal direction from supervisor or manager. Level of Skill, Education and Experience Minimum of 2 - 5 years of machinist experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude towards teamwork and learning. CNC Operator - 2nd Shift POSITION SUMMARY: The CNC Operator will program, set-up, and operate CNC processing machines for the manufacture of finished crankshaft and crankshaft accessories, such as counterweight parts and change parts. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Determine processing sequence and formulate within program language. Enter processing data, simulate processing, optimize program, and save progress. Create tool offset list, complete tool changes, and conduct off-sets. Prepare, complete, measure, and install work - clamping equipment and tools. Test program on a step-by-step basis, check first part, correct process if needed. Alter land test loader. Training of new personnel. Document problems and arrange corrective action Loading and unloading of machine. Monitor work processes, conduct service work, housekeeping/cleaning duties, etc. Control dimensional accuracy, condition, and completeness of work pieces Develop and implement ways to do complex and difficult rework on work pieces Any and all other duties assigned by the supervisor 2+ years' experience operating CNC equipment (lathes, mills, etc.) Experience with Tooling, Off-Sets, and Tool Changes Experience using Measuring Tools such as micrometers, calipers, etc. Capable of reading blueprints Fundamental understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) preferred. High School Diploma, apprenticeship in CNC, or equivalent years of relevant experience Familiarity with any of the following machining processes: lathes, mills, drills, bore, tapping, heat treat, grinding, balancing, rolling, polishing, etc. Understanding of crankshaft processing or Siemens 840D experience is a plus. Able to bend, stoop, grip, reach and lift up to a minimum of 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
