Schedule: Monday - Friday 3:15pm - 11:45pm
Operate Machines assigned after set-up by area supervisor, Lead person or Set-up Person.
Make adjustments (e.g change tool offsets) as allowed to produce parts in accordance with tolerances and specifications as called for on production sketches.
Inspect parts as produced to assure compliance with requirements using micrometers, verniers, gages, fixtures and/or other measuring equipment.
Recognize and report need for adjustments and toll sharpening.
Report any problems, difficulties, or unusual circumstances immediately to supervision.
Responsible for exercising good machine practices at all times.
Responsible for production, both quality and quantity.
Maintain accurate production cards, records or other data as required.
Maintain area, equipment and tools in neat, orderly condition.
Observe all company policies, rules, and regulations including good housekeeping, safety and security.
Ability to operate multiple machines simultaneously.
Perform other duties as required, assigned or directed.
Job Specifications:
High School or GED preferred
3 months - 1 year or more of experience
Machining experienced preferred but not required
Capacity to understand measurement and inspection devices
Able to interpret blue prints
Understand part placement to achieve optimum efficiency

Methodically follow schedules to meet customer commitments.
Practical knowledge of safety requirements associated with equipment operation and procedures.
This role requires standing, bending, reaching, and adjusting material and equipment in and around systems at different elevations.
Package epoxy sheet products as well as inspecting, labelling, and logging completed jobs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Independently load parts and operate a minimum of one type of CNC equipment.
Complete all operational processes, checklists, control plans and procedures as required.
Correctly identify and assemble cutting tools and tool holder assemblies based on existing process documentation.
Learn and understand the difference between types of tool wear. (See Operator Expectations for more details)
Identify the correct start line in the program.
Gain basic working/functional knowledge of M codes.
Look at parts to ensure they were machined properly. This would include surface finish conditions, missing features, etc.
Basic troubleshooting of the machine (with assistance) if there is an error code and escalate issues to the Lead or Supervisor.
Complete all required inspection measurements as defined on quality control plans using hand tools, gage pins, caliper, micrometer, and Micro-Hite measurement tools. Must properly load and run equator. Learn to read CMM reports and reports from the equator and adjust parts.
Education/Experience & Skills:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
List the experience and skills required for the position.
Ability to set the tool to the correct tool height with assistance from others.
Typically requires 90 days as a CNC Trainee and or one (1) year of demonstrated CNC Machine Operator experience.
Basic computer and math skills are required.

Set up and Run Tightly Dimensioned Parts having Challenging-to-Maintain Specifications Such as Parallelism, Concentricity, True Position, Flatness, etc.
Create, Verify and Edit Programs in Mastercam
Understand and Troubleshoot CNC Programs and Processes
Demonstrate Knowledge of Feeds and Speeds
Fabricate, Polish and Inspect Custom Production Tooling and Parts to Specification
Use Precision Instruments Such as Micrometers, Verniers, Gauges, Indicators, Machinist Scales, and Optical Comparator
Work with Various Materials Including Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Brass, Delrin, Teflon, Polypropylene
Perform Material Prep Bench Work Including Filing, De-Burring, Grinding and Lapping
Perform Preventative Maintenance on Assigned Machines and Equipment
Perform Routine Maintenance According to Daily, Monthly or Annual Machine Checklists and Schedules
Maintain Continuity Among Work Shifts by Documenting and Communicating Actions, Irregularities, and Continuing Needs
Record All Activities in a Timely Manner Using the Job Tracking System
Identify and Escalate Machining / Machine Shop Issues to Supervisor; Participate in the Resolution as Required
Implement Lean Manufacturing Principles and Tools to Reduce Waste
Identify and Support Continuous Improvement Activities
Maintain 5S / Housekeeping Standards within Work Area
Other Duties as Required
Education and Experience Requirements
Education: High School or Technical School Diploma, GED, Technical Certifications and Experience Considered
Experience with Mastercam preferred
Experience with Fanuc Controls preferred
Minimum of 5 years CNC Machinist Experience

Ability to Verify CNC Program File
Understand G and M Code
Complete Assigned Training, Understand and Comply with all Quality, EH&S, and Departmental Requirements. Report Concerns to Supervisor
Follow Good Manufacturing and Good Document Practices (GMP/GDP) at all times
Complete Assigned Work Meeting Quality and Efficiency Expectations
Verify Calibration Status of all Machines and Tools Prior to Use
Perform Machine Validations by Following Documented Protocol
Ability to Train New or Lower-Level Machinist
Self-Motivated and Work Independently with Minimal Supervision
High Attention to Detail

Problem Solving Ability
Communication Skills, Written, Oral, Electronic (MS Word, Outlook, Excel)
Daily Data Entry to Excel
Experience with Sheet Metal Shears, Sheet Metal Brakes, Welding and/or Machine Building is a Plus

Ability to Lift up to 50lbs
