The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming, machining, and precision measurement. We have a new CNC 4 axis mill and CNC lathe with live tooling. This role involves, helping to set up the CNC shop, programming, operating CNC machines, interpreting blueprints, and reverse engineering parts. The CNC Machinist will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process, contributing to the efficiency and accuracy of our operations.
All work is done in a new air-conditioned shop in Gonzales. This is a full-time position, with plenty of overtime. And we offer full benefits. We are a family-owned company with over 38 years in business.
Responsibilities
Operate CNC lathe and milling machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.
Program CNC machines using Fanuc controls.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand project requirements.
Conduct regular maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, etc.
Collaborate with team members in a lean manufacturing environment to improve processes and reduce waste.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace while strictly adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of CNC 4-axis machining with a strong understanding of machining processes.
Proficiency in CNC programming and operation of CNC milling machines and lathes.
Knowledge of tooling requirements for various machining tasks.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Perform machine operations on CNC or manual engine lathe. Tasks such as profiling, sub-blanking, coupling turning and threading. Second level in CNC Machinist training requiring close supervision.
DUTIES:
Ability to set up and thread VAM TOP Family threads and API threads, pin and boxes.
Accurately measure, and record product tolerances required for Pre-Level CNC 1, VAM Top family, and API threads.
Comprehend Original Equipment Manufacturer, Vallourec Tube-Alloy drawings and Manufacturing Orders.
Maintain product traceability throughout the manufacturing process, including product marking per SOP, TSLI, and Licensor requirements.
Follow Vallourec Tube Alloy HS&E safety standards, policies and understand the Risk Assessments pertaining to machine operations.
Perform machine maintenance per SOP, TSLI, and Autonomous Maintenance requirements.
Capable of making required molds for VAM Top family of threads.
Maintain 5S standards.
Maintain operator measured Efficiencies and Utilization requirements.
Participate in at least one Continuous Improvement Event.
Must have successfully completed all classroom, SOP, and TSLI related training for CNC 1.
Perform other duties as assigned.
REPORTS TO: Department Manager/Supervisor/Lead Person as applicable per facility
QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet requirements for Pre-CNC 1.
EDUCATION: High School Degree or GED required. Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
EXPERIENCE: Meet qualifications for Machinist - Manual I or prior CNC experience.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Good mechanical aptitude and must meet Pre-CNC 1 requirements. Good mathematical background and can calculate rework pull-back for hooked threads, calculating angles, and turning speeds. Ability to safely operate a jib crane to load and unload product.
CNC Machinist

Ideal candidate will have 4+ years experience with CNC milling machine centers as well as CNC lathes. Previous experience milling pump casings, impellers, etc. is highly desired. Positions open on both first and second shifts.
Job Duties:
Prepare instructions & maintain set-up and tooling sheets using available tooling and fixturing.
Assure accuracy of machine, process instructions and, if necessary, modify to accomplish the highest efficiency of the CNC program utilizing available tooling/fixturing.
Perform part set up's, with the assistance of air and hand wrenches; operate machine independently with minimal supervision.
Able to operate an overhead 10 ton crane, 3 ton jib crane, and able to lift 50 lbs.
Climate controlled working environment that will require the operator to stand 90% of the time, move around, bend and lift as required.
Skills:
Experience with Mazak machines and Mazatrol controls is preferred
Experience working with programming up to 5 axis
Solid understanding of various metals and raw materials, and the ability to select & apply tooling for the proper cutting applications.
Ability to read and interpret engineered or shop drawings/schematics
Know G and M-code; experience with manual programming is a plus
Familiarity with a Parlec Tool-Setter and Renishaw probe is a plus
Knowledge of Esprit or Master Cam software is a huge plus
Must be proficient in using analog micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and other precision measuring devices.
Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed or required.
