We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our team. This is a fulltime on-site role for a CNC Programmer/Machinist located in Irvine, CA. The CNC Programmer/Machinist will be responsible for creating and optimizing CNC programs, setting up and operating CNC machines, and interpreting technical drawings to produce precise components. This position will be primarily responsible for CNC Milling, including 4 and 5-axis milling machines as well as mill-turn lathes. Daily tasks include programming, setup, job scheduling, and ensuring the quality of finished products through meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities
• Complete technical reviews of drawings and specifications.
• Program CNC machines using Mastercam, with a focus on 4 and 5-axis CNC milling as well as CNC mill-turn lathes.
• Complete setup and first articles for each operation.
• Operate machines during times of lower programming demand.
• Review and adhere to job schedules and milestones.
• Work with engineering, inspection, and assembly teams to ensure product quality meets specifications.
• Ensure machined components meet their cycle time and cost estimates.
• Complete root cause and corrective action reports as required to address issues.
• Provide strong leadership and training to team members.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in CNC Programming and Machining
• Experience programming 4 and 5-axis CNC mills and CNC mill-turn lathes using Mastercam.
• Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications.
• Ability to interpret and review 3D models using SolidWorks and 2D drawings using AutoCad.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

The primary function of this position is to set-up, verify, and operate CNC lathes to machine complex parts to customer requirements.
2nd Shift (1:45pm - 10:15pm)
Other responsibilities will include:
Set-up of CNC lathes including calibration of cutting tools and location of work offsets for part production.
Verification of CNC programs and, when required, operation of lathes.
Completion of all applicable paperwork (working to ISO 9000 standards).
Performance of dimensional and visual inspections for first piece and in-process manufacturing.
Cleanliness of the work area and proper handling of tools, equipment, and stock to prevent damage or loss.
Assist in training other machinists or in supervising machine operators.
Related detail work including de-burring, modification, re-work and assembly, as needed.
May require training in hazardous material handling depending on job assignment.
Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years CNC job shop experience.
Must work to close tolerances in a high volume environment.
Must be proficient with complicated blueprints and advanced job shop mathematical calculations.
Familiar with CNC programming codes and able to perform complex set-ups for prototype and production runs.
Must be able to follow written instructions and to work with no supervision.
Must be familiar with cutting tool feeds and speeds.

Qualifications

What Does the Job Involve?
The lead reports directly to the department supervisor and receives from the supervisor on daily tasks and/or is responsible seeing through longer term projects. The Lead maintains SQIDPP boards and metrics, and acts as a general inter-departmental liaison. The Lead will act as a backup for the Supervisor. What will my responsibilities include?
Sets-up and operates conventional and/or up to 5 axis CNC machines. Able to review printed work order and complete manufacturing process with little to no supervision.
Determines specifications or procedures for tooling requirements, set up procedures, machine operation, work-piece dimensions or numerical control sequences using blueprints, instructions and machine knowledge.
Assists in training and mentoring employees needing assistance when necessary. Explains and demonstrates procedures and techniques to employees.
Ensures work in progress is completed in conformance to specifications. May measure dimensions of finished material using precision measuring instruments, templates or fixtures.
Assists with production issues as they arise.
Ensures needed documentation is available for set up to be completed correctly and in a timely manner. Ensures the set up flows with production.

Position Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes:

- Strong interpersonal skills

The base compensation range for this role is $20 - $33 / hour for the position in California. QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified individuals will have 5 years related work experience in an Aerospace Manufacturing environment and familiar with our machine line.
Must be able to stand for 8 hours in a day/night, lift/carry up to 50 pounds, keen eye-hand coordination, able to be trained and certified as a Forklift & Crane Operator.
