Summary Responsible for operating and executing scheduling needs for machines that extrude or draw out thermoplastic materials into tubes. Communicating maintenance needs to the Molding Manager. This role will include standard Extruder functions with a focus on the following: The execution of scheduled jobs on the extruder. Communicating workflow priorities with other shift team members; Executing a workflow process to ensure departmental goals are continually met; Maintaining quality and ensuring extruded products are dimensionally correct and within tolerance to meet customer needs. Essential Functions * Operate and maintain extrusion machines, selecting and replacing dies as needed. * Set up procedures and adjust controls for vacuum, air pressure, sizing, and temperature. * Monitor and synchronize extrusion speed to ensure proper operation. * Inspect products for defects and ensure conformance to specifications. * Read and interpret blueprints and drawings for accurate production. * Install, connect, test, and adjust equipment as necessary. * Handle reels, specify roll lengths and weights, and seal splices with moisture-proof covering. * Remove excess, entangled, or completed filaments from machines. * Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace by following established procedures. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Must have attention to detail and accuracy. * Demonstrate a strong work ethic, self-motivation, attention to detail, and be able to manage multiple projects. * Ability to learn technical material * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
