We are looking for a SolidCAM Programmer who can create programs for a 5-axis CNC and a CNC lathe and who also has machine shop experience in a manufacturing environment. About the Role
We're seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Operator / Machinist to produce high-precision parts for aerospace and defense applications. This hands-on role requires strong attention to detail, blueprint reading skills, and the ability to work within tight tolerances in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and monitor CNC lathes to machine precision components from steel and specialty alloys
Read and interpret blueprints, machining print tolerances, and production specifications
Adjust tooling and programs as needed; inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
Troubleshoot machine issues (tool wear, chatter, axis drift) and perform minor preventive maintenance
Maintain production logs, monitor scrap rates, and communicate equipment issues to maintenance
Follow all ISO 9001/AS9100 quality and safety standards
Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to support process improvements
Qualifications
2-3+ years of CNC lathe operating experience (preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing)
Skilled in hard turning and maintaining tight tolerances
Strong blueprint reading and precision measurement abilities
Willing to train on 1st shift and transition to 2nd shift; able to work overtime as needed
