We are looking for an experienced Senior CNC Machinist to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot computer numerical-controlled (CNC) machines for precision tooling and parts production. This role involves advanced programming, setup, and machining operations, as well as mentoring junior machinists. You will ensure quality standards, maintain equipment, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to achieve production targets. Job Requirements: Set up and troubleshoot CNC machines, including lathes, vertical mills, and other equipment, to machine parts to exact specifications. Edit CNC programs for dimensional and tooling changes. Interpret and work from complex blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, and work orders to determine dimensions and tolerances. Perform machining operations such as threading, precision boring, facing, turning, grooving, and contouring. Calculate proper speeds, feeds, and tooling based on material type, part configuration, and finish requirements. Inspect finished parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, height gauges, and vision systems. Perform routine machine maintenance and assist with repair activities. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety standards. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical or quality issues. Mentor and support lower-level machinists and apprentices, sharing best practices and training on safe machining operations. 2nd Shift 2:30pm-11:00pm What your background should look like: High school diploma or equivalent; formal technical training, trade school certification, or apprenticeship preferred. Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience operating CNC machines in a job shop or production environment. 10 years of experience writing and editing CNC programs. Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling selection, and shop mathematics. Proficient with G & M codes, CNC program cycles, and feed and speed identification. Proficient in reading engineering drawings and GD&T. Ability to use precision measuring tools; experience with CMM or vision systems is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work with small features. Knowledge of machine maintenance and troubleshooting.     Insight Global is looking for an inside machinist at the journeyman or specialized level that can, not only operate CNC and manual Lathes and Mill machines but can set up the machine from start to finish. After a 3-week training period and safety courses, the inside machinist will be assigned to a specific machine (Manual Lathes, Manual Mill, CNC Lathes or CNC Mill) and will be giving a specific project. The project could last a few hours or a few weeks depending on what item they are assigned to. They could be working with material that is 2 feet long or 10 feet long. Most of the material they will be working with will be stainless steel with a little bit of aluminum and copper. Onsite there will be a CNC programmer so the inside machinist will need to have knowledge of G&M codes but does not need to have the programming knowledge. Once they finish one project, they will move on to the next project. Compensation: $40/hr to $45/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Advex is currently installing a new suite of Okuma 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling machines. Depending on shift preference and demonstrated capability, machinists may be assigned to any of 11 machines, ranging from small enclosed vertical CNC mills and wire EDM equipment to large open-architecture bridge mills and horizontal boring mills.
