Custom Cylinders, Inc. is seeking a CNC Setup/Operator to work with an experienced team in a dynamic and action-oriented Continuous Improvement environment. This position will be responsible for the setting up and operation of CNC mills and lathes to produce parts to print specifications. Machine types include Bridgeport, Haas, Hardinge, and Takisawa lathes and mills. An ideal candidate for this role should pay strong attention to detail, is committed to workplace safety, and maintains a constant quality mindset in all work. Having experience setting up and maintaining Swiss lathes and other multi turret, multi-spindle lathes would be a huge plus.
Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:
Interpret engineering drawings to understand tolerances of the parts to be machined.
Interpret setup documentation and tooling sheets to setup a variety of jobs.
Setup and operate CNC multi-turret and multi spindle lathes to meet parts per hour requirements.
Perform quality checks and make necessary adjustments to hold dimensions and tolerances.
Makes necessary offset and program adjustments or requests program updates from programmer in order to hold dimensions and tolerances to print specifications.
Takes proper care of all tools and equipment.
Performs daily preventative maintenance.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED.
five years prior machining experience.
Ability to read blueprints and to use and read precision measuring tools.
Understanding of basic shop math including decimal/fraction conversion.

Job Title: Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Supervisor
Department or Division : Production
Reports To : Operation's Manager or Production Manager

The function of the CNC Supervisor is to program and operate the CNC with no supervision. This position will also supervise other CNC operators who produce machined parts to quality and safety standards.
Essential Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:
Setup, program, operate and troubleshoot CNC
Use MasterCam to adjust programs
Understand and edit G-code programming
Oversee organization of entire CNC department
Meet tolerance requirements by using supplied gauges
Perform regular maintenance and assist with necessary repairs on CNC
Coordinate with other departments in the plant
Use safe procedures to perform all tasks

Minimum Qualifications
High School Degree/GED or equivalent
3+ years of CNC experience with 6+months of direct supervisory experience
Experienced in the use of hand and power tools
Basic math skills for machining application
Forklift operation experience
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to effectively communicate with all facets of the workforce
Basic problem solving ability

This position will be based at our Creedmoor, NC headquarters.
Terms of Employment
This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. Work is regularly performed in a warehouse environment.

The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and/or walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with arms or hands.
