CNC Machine Operators 3rd Shift hours are Mon-Fri 10:30p-7:00a The ideal candidate with be responsible for setting-up, operate and troubleshoot CNC machines according to scheduled orders to produce quality machined parts for the Aerospace and Automotive industries. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting issues that arise during the machining runs, completes offsets and adjustments, and assists operators as needed. Machines include lathes, mills, grinders, and manual tools (Haas, Fadal, Mori Seiki, Akuma etc.).
Responsibilities
Perform set-up for complex/advanced/non-routine jobs independently
Use measuring equipment effectively such as micrometers and calipers
Work from written procedures and work routers
Dismantle jigs, tools, and special fixtures
Make tooling as necessary
Provides training to co-workers on the operation of CNC machines and inspection methods and tools.
Maintain drawing specifications by monitoring dimensional and visual characteristics to detect non-conformances
Handle raw material and hazardous waste safely and in an environmentally responsible manner
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
Other duties as assigned
Requirements

5+ years of experience in performing adjustments and offsets in CNC Machining for Mills and Lathes (Required)

Reviews job information in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system daily to determine orders to process.
Maintains inventory of materials needed for production orders.

Selects and installs cutting tools within the machine.
Loads pre-programmed machine commands into the controller.

DESCRIPTION: Machinist sets up and operates conventional, special purpose and numericalcontrol (NC) machines and machining centers to manufacture parts by performing the following duties: RESPONSIBILITIES: * Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
* Cuts material as required by shop router and sign off operation on shop router.
* Works in accordance with OSHA Safety regulations.
* Holds responsibility for wearing proper safety equipment in required areas.
* Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications, signs off operations on router.
* Be sure that 1st piece inspection is performed as required.
* Keeps work area and machine clean, neat and safe.
* Performs other duties as required or instructed by Supervisor.

The Machinist/ Shop Technician operates a variety of both manual and CNC machining equipment (lathes and mills) to produce parts that meet design specifications. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
* Reviews blueprints/technical drawings, work orders and work instructions to plan and set up production processes.
* Set up CNC machines, including loading tools, programs, and raw material to set up sheets.
* Analyzes, selects, or modifies speeds and cutting tools for programs as needed.
* Uses precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work and perform detailed inspection of parts produced, especially R&D or first-piece parts.
* Maintain a clean work environment and assist in the general maintenance of equipment.
* Complies with all safety rules and regulations.
Qualifications
Required
* Good problem solving and conceptual skills.
* Excellent communication skills to communicate with management, engineers/programmers and quality support staff.
* Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
* Proficient in G-code and M-code programming desirable.
* Experience setting up and troubleshooting CNC machines, including lathes and mills.
* Mechanical and technical capacity.
* Proven ability to successfully multi-task in a fast paced, high throughput environment.
* Intermediate to advanced shop math skills.
