POSITION DESCRIPTION
The NC Programmer plans machining sequences and fixturing for 3-5 axis machine tools.
The following essential job functions are performed as an NC Programmer:
Determines methods, cutter types and cutting parameters depending on a variety of materials (composites, epoxies, steel, aluminum, etc.) and design specifications
Designs 3-D computer models, drawings and specifications for fabrication of fixturing elements
Creates 3-5 axis tool paths utilizing Unigraphics CAD/CAM software, preferably Simens NX
Provides input in production tracking software
Works with process engineers on planning of manufacturing process to ensure that quality and design objectives are achieved
Creates shop documentation for setup of the machines complying with ISO 9000 standards
Analyzes laser-tracking data to assure quality of the setup, when applicable
Works with the machinists to make sure setup and machining procedures are followed
Perform tool path verification using Vericut software
General knowledge of standard G-Code language, machine offsets, and part location
Setup and operate the following equipment. CNC and manual mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, waterjets and band saws
Composite and Metallics Machining
Reads and understands engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing, and work orders
Accurate use of precision measuring instruments (ie: micrometers, calipers, etc,) and working to tight tolerances
Visually inspect and deburr parts. Attention to detail and quality is required
Performs other duties as assigned

Professional Summary:
Experienced CNC Machinist and Programmer with a strong background in process engineering support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to optimize machining operations, improve yield, and support tool functionality. Skilled in programming CNC machines, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions in high-tech manufacturing environments.
Essential Function:
The CNC Programmer in this role will support all activities related to one of our highly technical Value Streams. The successful candidate will need to work with process engineers to monitor and control production processes, perform engineering experiments, investigate the root cause and completing actions to improve yield in assigned processes and programming support for CNC cell. and support maintenance team members to verify tool functionality after repairs, attend Material Review Board (MRB) meeting. Position will also collect and report non-conformance trends for critical manufacturing processes.
What You'll Do
* This role is responsible for providing technical support and expertise to our CNC machining operations
* Ability to run and troubleshoot the CNC machines with the corrective actions and present the data to various levels of the business.
* Create CNC programs for new products, review existing programs for improvement opportunities, and implement changes to programs.
* You will collaborate with operation/maintenance/quality/Process Engineer teams to optimize current machining processes, troubleshoot issues, and new machine set up/qualification.
* Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve production goals
* Provide support to internal & external customers and work with cross-functional teams to create programs on time and program trouble shooting. Implement program changes effectively with collaboration of stakeholders.
* Provide support for work in process drawings and creating new documentation such as work instruction and preventative maintenance, validate tool acceptance to run production parts to improve the efficiency of the maintenance department.
* Follow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to management
* Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S
* Perform tasks/duties related to special projects or assignments & other duties as assigned by department management

* AS in an engineering or quality field of study or high school diploma with 5+ years relevant experience
* Ability to read blueprints and understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
* Must be able to operate independently but demonstrate confidence to ask questions and notify management of any issues in a timely manner.
* Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment.
* Confident to coordinate efforts with both the operators, engineers, facilities, supply chain and management.
* Experience working in a collaborative and matrixed environment with diverse teams, semiconductor customers, and/or partners.
* Experience background with CNC machining silicone products (operation, programming, troubleshooting, qualifying, set up, work instruction) is a plus.
* Knowledge of statistical analysis (JMP, SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE) and problem-solving methodologies (RCCA) for production, machine and quality problems is preferred.
