Float Requirements: Will be asked to float as needed. They will float to different units that are withinminutes of each other. They would be compensated through the facility for drive time up to 30 minutes with a punch correction. (Clock in once they arrive at their scheduled unit before they are asked to divert to cover the expense)
• Nurses could be floated or diverted within 50 miles of the unit they are assigned to work with
• Rarely could be transferred mid-shift but could be
• Miles to/from home are not considered
• Refusal to float or divert is considered a DNR Status
• Google Maps is their friend! Satellite view
• Their home base (where they live) is not considered
Scheduling:
• 4 weeks block booking by the 20th
• Work week is Saturday - Friday, this is how OT is calculated
Certs: BLS
License: Compact or Texas RN
Experience:
• 2 years of RN experience required
• Travelers that come from HH or hospice can succeed but is rare
• Floor nursing in LTAC or acute care are most successful
• Must have at least 1 Year of Acute Care or Med Surg experience
• LTAC, ER, Skilled Nursing and/or Psych is a plus to succeed in this environment

The Registered Nurse plays an integral role in providing high quality customer service and clinical care (pursuant to scope of license) to facility customers. The RN is responsible for leading and supporting the goals for shift objectives to enhance team efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Initiates and leads team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans
Performs efficiently in emergency patient care situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events
Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning
Documents patient care and unit activities in a timely, accurate, and concise manner
Accurately and promptly implements physicians' orders
Obtain data for electronic Admission Data Record
Administers medications, starts IVs and performs treatments for assigned residents, and documents that treatment as required by facility, local, state and federal rules and regulations
Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel
