As the Clinical Nurse Informaticist (CNI) on the New Hospital at Parnassus Heights (NHPH) Experience and Design Team, you will be at the front line of creating the next generation of healthcare delivery.By understanding clinicians' needs today, and trends and innovations of care delivery tomorrow, you will facilitate the creation of future state workflows and assist in design decisions. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Informatics Officer, this position is responsible for contributing Informatics expertise for this highly complex project - the proposed new UCSF Helen Diller Medical Center at Parnassus Heights - a state-of-the-art, 21st-century adult-care hospital designed and equipped to provide an unsurpassed level of care for patients scheduled to open in 2030.The new 15-story, 875,000 gross-square-foot (GSF) hospital will enable UCSF to provide much-needed capacity for additional acute, emergency and intensive care beds, meet the state's seismic requirements, and provide an optimal healing environment that addresses social, psychological, spiritual, and behavioral components of health in one place. The holistic focus on the needs of patients reflects UCSF's integrated research, education and care delivery mission at Parnassus Heights. The new hospital will incorporate the latest innovations in technology and equipment for advanced complex care and bridge scientific research discoveries from bench to bedside leading to accelerated innovative treatments and therapies to benefit patients.

As a key member of the cross-functional NHPH Experience Team, you will be at the front line of creating the next generation of healthcare delivery. By understanding needs today, and trends and innovations of tomorrow, you will facilitate creation of future state workflows and transformational care delivery. Through rapid prototyping and experimentation with supporting technology you will guide key decisions for the physical design of the facility, creation of a technology roadmap and critical operations and organizational requirements and capabilities.

To ensure a successful opening, your NHPH Experience Team will define and prioritize opportunities to test new technologies and workflows that can be deployed earlier in existing hospitals. Through this continuous learning approach, you will help prepare our frontline staff and operations, and design for patients and families a seamless care experience between UCSF Health and partner care facilities, as well as pre- and post-procedure at home. In partnership with a Product Manager, Service and Product Designers, a Systems Architect, a Project Manager, NHPH architecture teams and existing 1-5 year time horizon experience teams, you will develop strategies and concepts for primary and secondary experiences for Patients and Family as well as Operations, Staff, and Learners.

Serves as a champion for complex clinical projects and systems that support efficiency and effectiveness for nursing and clinical support staff end users in support of UCSF Health.Involves advanced expertise in the implementation, integration, and ongoing evolution and adoption of information systems.Acts as the liaison to align clinical and IT standards with departmental workflows, processes, and policies.
