Summary:
A Stepdown Registered Nurse provides care to patients who are transitioning from intensive care to medical-surgical or general inpatient units. These patients require frequent monitoring and specialized nursing interventions. They assess and manage complex patient needs, administer medications and treatments, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care.
Essential Work Functions:
Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, with a focus on cardiac care
Prepares equipment and aids physician during cardiac-related procedures and examinations
Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's cardiac status and response to interventions
Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies
Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients
Initiates patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications
Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients
Maintains confidentiality of patients and client
Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Required Essential Skills:
Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend

Participate in survey and mock-survey campus preparedness.
Make daily rounds of the nursing service department(s) to ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing and infection control standards.
Complete review of fridge temps, FirstDose room temps BID, completion of crash cart audits, fall intervention check, med carts, HIPPA violations, TSS, and med rooms and report findings to the ADON, DON and the Executive Director.
Provide patient care as needed and participate in campus on-call rotation based on campus schedule.
Qualifications
Must have and maintain a current, valid state LPN or RN license
Wound Care Certification (WCC) preferred or willingness to complete the certification training program.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is primarily responsible for providing direct, quality clinical care and serves as a Team Leader to patient care staff.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a team of direct care providers to ensure appropriate execution of medications and treatments, documentation, family teaching, care planning and patient care conferencing in compliance with the Health Campus Policies and Procedures.
Utilize the nursing process in delivering patient care and ensure continuity of care from admission through discharge and return to family and community.
Visit residents on assigned unit daily to observe and evaluate each resident's physical and emotional status and notify the charge nurse, the physician, and/or the Director of Nursing when there is a change in a resident's condition._
Identify resident problems and emergency situations and initiate immediate lifesaving measures in the absence of a physician._
Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc. as necessary.
Qualifications
Must have and maintain a current, valid state RN license
Current, valid CPR certification required

Responsibilities
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plans, coordinates, provides and manages nursing care services and health education to nursing home guests.
* Supervise the care/services provided by Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA)/State-Tested Nursing Assistants (STNA) and other team members who care for guests.
* Provide safe and accurate medication-related interventions to guests.
* Assess the health of guests and notify the physician of changes in status. Promptly implement new orders.
* Select and institute appropriate nursing interventions to stabilize a guest's condition and/or prevent complications.
* Contribute to the guest's assessment (MDS/CAA's) and the development of a plan of care.
Qualifications
