Monitor, evaluate and make recommendations for improving quality indicators through the establishment of evidence-based practice standards.
This is a Full Time Evening Flex shift position (10 hour shifts; 4 days/wk; FLEX 12p-10p or 11a-9p depending on the needs of the unit) at NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens at 56-45 Main St, Flushing, NY 11355.
Preferred Criteria

SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse reports to the NurseManager. This position provides leadership and patient education to staff and patients; and coordinates the day-to-day clinical administrative functions of the primary care practice and specialty services.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide oversight of the Licensed Practical Nursing and /or Medical Assistant staff including laboratory, primary care, specialty services, provider assignments and schedule.
Provide health education and follow-up for patients regarding preventive or urgent care. Participate in collaborative initiatives to address health promotion and chronic care.
Conduct internal collaborative work between the primary care practice and specialty clinics to ensure optimal utilization of services.
Ensure quality standards set by the external regulatory agencies and internal standard operating protocol and procedures.
Prepare QA and CQI reports for monthly and quarterly committee meetings respectively as assigned by Medical Director.
Provide triage services as needed.
Reporting to regulatory agencies as required by law
Coordinate communication between Betances and admitting ER and hospital centers.
Provides oversight to ensure and maintain patient flow to providers and efficient patient departure from clinic.
Provide ongoing review of emergency equipment, biological and medications in order to maintain optimal readiness.
Provide oversight for the ordering of medical supplies and durable medical equipment.
Coordinate delivery and tracking of pharmaceutical samples. Special Projects to be determined by the Medical Director.
Administer medication (orally, subcutaneously, nebulized)
Provide wound care.
Ensure immunizations are stored as per CDC regulations and temperature logs are monitored and maintained.
Ensure that any vaccines ordered are appropriate. Validate that all vaccines given to children are entered into the City Immunization registry (CIR).
