Unit Specifics:
· Number of Beds : 20 regular beds, 5 Level 2 beds, 5 special care beds
· Patient Ratios : 1:6 max
· Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : No unit secretary, tech or 3rd nurse at 11 babies, Director, CC, and Lactation Consultant on staff to assist
· Type of equipment : giraffe warmers, high flow NC, CPAP, veinfinder, bili check, isolette, monitors, alaris pumps, syringe pumps, cuddle cot
· Documentation system: Meditech & Centricity
· Scheduling requirements: 36 hours which includes half of the weekend shifts of the schedule and some holidays based on rotation of staff (standard). Allowed to enter desired schedule and will make adjustments to ensure coverage before posting (not without contacting individuals)
· Floating policy: Only float to areas of similar care modalities
· Patient Experience requirements: We place a high priority on patient experience and satisfaction. We expect team work amongst staff and patient focused care.

Must have: Good attitude, flexible, good work ethic, teamwork abilities, great communication skills, caring and compassionate care modality
Advanced skills needed:
Procedures performed on unit: standard newborn assessment and care, high flow NC, CPAP, IV's, antibiotic therapy, NAS scoring, monitors, bilichecks, PKU, CCHD, car seat challenges, admission & discharge paperwork and discussion with new parents, etc.
Certifications Required: BLS, NRP
Dress Code: (Required uniform)

Required Qualifications:
Current RN License by State Board of Nursing required with demonstrated managerial and administrative ability.
Experience in the long-term care profession or working with geriatric population preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience with at least two years supervisory experience.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership and Operations Management:
Oversee the nursing department, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices.
Directs staff management, including hiring, training, scheduling, and professional development.
Assumes responsibility for the center in the Executive Director's absence.
Quality Care and Clinical Excellence:
Develops and implements care plans that promote residents' highest level of functioning.
Conducts regular rounds, ensures accurate medical record documentation, and leads the care planning committee.
Monitors and improve resident outcomes through Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.
Resident, Family, and Community Relations:
Maintains open communication with residents, families, healthcare providers, and staff.
Handles concerns and complaints professionally, providing education and resolution.
Ensures proper infection control practices and adherence to safety standards.
