American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Henderson, Nevada. & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in an acute care setting with night shifts and advanced fetal monitoring requirements. Responsibilities Work in a Labor & Delivery unit within an acute care hospital 17 L&D beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections, 4 triage beds, and 16 postpartum beds Level 3 high-risk facility with approximately 250 births per month Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 2:1 for normal laboring, 1:1 for high risk, 4:1 for couplet care, 2:1-4:1 for antepartum based on acuity Responsible for circulating and recovering own C-section patients Required to titrate drips including Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, Insulin, and Heparin Cerner EMR is used; experience required Night shift position, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required Floating to postpartum as needed; no on-call requirement Nurses are supported by certified surgical techs and secretaries as ancillary staff OB/Neonatologist and anesthesia coverage are in-house 24/7 Navy blue scrubs required in L&D; light blue OR scrubs provided when needed Three-day orientation to the unit provided for travelers Holiday coverage may be required as needed First-time travelers will be considered Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for a travel contract Requirements Active NV RN license required at time of consideration; no pending licenses accepted Minimum 2 years recent L&D experience required Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM) Ability to independently and confidently perform vaginal exams, internal monitor placement, and manage high risk labor and antepartum patients Competence in reading fetal monitor strips and titrating common OB drips Ability to float to postpartum and take assignments as needed Copy of driver's license required for consideration Submission of two professional references: one supervisor from within last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within last three years, both with employment dates and rehire eligibility Candidates may not have been employed directly by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-645691.
