Our Oncology Group is seeking a Medical Director to lead its growing team of medical oncologists/hematologists and advanced practice providers. This Oncology Group is a member of the largest healthcare provider in East Tennessee. The Cancer network is based out of Metro Knoxville and is the largest provider of cancer care in our region with nine cancer centers covering 26 counties, including the region's only Proton Therapy Center. Our program is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a passionate, dynamic physician leader to help drive and direct our program?s continued growth towards being a national model of excellence in cancer care in the community setting. This position is a critical and high visibility member of the cancer program leadership team and will be expected to directly contribute to strategic direction of the cancer program.
About this Opportunity
The Medical Director will be responsible for providing clinical oversight of the group and medical oncology program. In collaboration with the cancer program senior leadership team, the Medical Director will lead efforts to increase integration and alignment of medical oncology services across all the group Health facilities. More specific responsibilities include:
Lead recruitment, retention, mentorship, quality, and growth management for TOG physicians and APP
Represent medical oncology services across the system, both inpatient and outpatient, to other physician groups and to executive leadership of facilities and service lines
Be a major contributor to strategic initiatives for medical oncology, TOG, and the full Health cancer program, on a 4-year expansion plan with other visionary leadership.
Act as the public face for The Oncology Group for general marketing, public events, and physician-group relations
Head efforts to integrate, align, and standardize operations
Lead quality and safety program for medical oncology
Ensure physician presence in all medical oncology leadership meetings, clinical decision making
Participate in the development of policies, procedures, continuing education programs, and training of providers and staff
Participate in budget planning and prioritization
Balanced Role: Flexible mix of clinical and administrative responsibilities.
The Medical Director will be employed and enjoy security with a not-for-profit health system. During a visit that can last up to one hour, Matrix providers review and observe a member's current health, medical history, medication adherence, social environment and other risks. This provides unmatched insight into a member's overall health and well-being that can be difficult to capture during routine office visits. The Matrix Comprehensive Health Assessment (CHA) helps to improve quality of care and allows us to potentially close multiple care gaps with a single visit. Our providers:

Your Qualifications:

* Requires active, current, and valid Family NursePractitioner Certification.
