Responsibilities
About the Role
During a visit that can last up to one hour, Matrix providers review and observe a member's current health, medical history, medication adherence, social environment and other risks. This provides unmatched insight into a member's overall health and well-being that can be difficult to capture during routine office visits. The Matrix Comprehensive Health Assessment (CHA) helps to improve quality of care and allows us to potentially close multiple care gaps with a single visit. Our providers:
* Conduct adult / geriatric assessments to include medical history, diagnosis and treatment, health education, physician referrals, case management referrals, follow-up and clear documentation according to Matrix guidelines and protocols
* Administer and order point of care and lab-based testing as needed
* Work with physicians, case managers, social workers, family members, key caregivers, and ancillary medical personnel as appropriate
* Collaborate with Primary Care Physician (PCP) on patient education and follow up as necessary
* Provide services at the member's place of residence which can be in their homes or Skilled Nursing Facilities

* Flexibility - Visits are scheduled based on YOUR availability. We conduct assessments Sunday - Saturday from 8 am - 7 pm. You can work during the day, evening, and/or weekend based on your schedule.

For over 25 years, Healogics has been treating patients with chronic wounds from over 600 hospital-based wound care centers across the country. Currently, Healogics treats over 300,000 wound care patients annually and has healed nearly 4 million wounds. Healogics is the worlds leading expert in wound healing.
This position is based in our outpatient wound care clinic and is exclusively dedicated to procedural wound care. Our standard work hours are daytime hours averaging around 40 hours per week. There are no night shifts, on-call responsibilities, holiday hours, or weekend hours. All patients are seen by appointment only; walk-ins are not accepted. The clinic is integrated with Piedmont Columbus Regional Wound Center, and the candidate will be employed by Healogics.
This is a procedure-oriented environment primarily serving geriatric patients. The successful candidate must possess at least 1 year of procedural background. Experience with minor procedures such as suturing, debridement, and/or incision and drainage (I&D) is required, and procedural case logs will be requested as part of the credentialing process. Other types of non-dermatological procedural experience may also be acceptable on a case-by-case basis.
Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) Therapy training are available. A full clinical team will be in place from the start date.
Scope of Practice Highlights
Full team support includes Case Manager, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Nurses, Office Manager, and Front/Back End Support staff.
We offer advanced wound-care treatments to promote healing, including cellulitis therapy, compression therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, infection management and prevention, wound cleaning, and wound dressing.

We pay up to $150 per hour and offer flexible scheduling; you will receive compensation for each evaluation. We typically remit payment within 45 days of encounter documentation in our user-friendly EMR.
Typical Appointments
In-person appointments consist of general medical evaluations. Evaluations are performed once per veteran and typically take 30 to 90 minutes. These evaluations make a difference in the lives of veterans and directly impact their access to the ongoing care they need. There are no ongoing treatment needs for these veterans; each appointment is a one-time encounter.
Note: The evaluations are general medical evaluations, not disability evaluations.
We Schedule Around Your Availability.
Make your own schedule! Evaluate clients, earn a comfortable income, and be home in time for dinner. We efficiently schedule each series of evaluation appointments, which last no more than a total of eight hours each day. Our current need is for 3-4 days per week.

Our back-office support team handles all administrative work, including contracting with the Veterans Administration, liaising with contractors, and arranging payment. This approach allows you to spend your time where it should be spent: with the patient or your family.
Training and Experience
These evaluations make a difference in the lives of veterans and directly impact their access to the ongoing care they need. Our clinical onboarding team of advanced level practitioners is available to train you on working with the veteran population. They provide excellent ongoing clinical support for any questions or concerns.
