Attention all NursePractitioners, we are calling you to partner with us as independent contractors providing services to our Military Service members. We primarily work weekends, with some occasional weekdays under the Reserve Health Readiness Program (RHRP) in the State of California on an "as needed basis".
We provide health readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the following:
U.S. Army Reserve (USAR)
Army National Guard (ARNG)
U.S. Navy Reserve (USNR)
U.S. Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES)
U.S. Coast Guard Reserve (USCGR)
Air National Guard (ANG)
U.S. Air Force Reserve (USAFR)
Responsibilities:
Support Physical Health Assessments of military personnel.
Review health history, service member medical records, and medical questionnaires.
Interview military personnel to determine current and prior medical concerns.
Identify any concerns that need to be addressed immediately, inclusive of Behavioral Health.
Document interview results for readiness classification in the service member's medical record using the proprietary system.
Requirements
Supervising Physician may required depending on the state requirement
Active NP license in the state
CPR/BLS Certification
Experience with Primary Care, Urgent Care or Occupational Health - preferred
Experience with mobile medical services - preferred
Knowledge of Military systems, protocols, and terminology - preferred
Adaptable to fast paced environments, with large volumes of service members seen daily
Able to work extended hours
Able to work in various locations, including remote military installations
Able to travel, with weekend availability - preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Basic computer knowledge and skills
Not Required - Diagnose, treat, or prescribe medications

Education and Certification:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
RN State License.
Certification as a NursePractitioner with prescriptive authority.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
Current driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a NP specializing in adult chronic disease management and functioning in a Primary Care Provider role, with or without MD oversight. Experience with the frail elderly population is preferred.
Knowledge of chronic care/geriatric issues and best practices. Experience with deprescribing and palliative care is a bonus.
Strong relationship-building skills with other providers and an interdisciplinary team.
Commitment to improving the health, experience, and value for patients.
Quick learner with new EMR and health tech communication platforms.
Excellent clinical, organizational, and communication skills. Experience with difficult goals of care conversations is preferred.

Job Description
This role supports the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in conducting assessments for Veterans leaving military service or applying for disability benefits from the VA.
The Advanced Practice Provider will perform face-to face, in-clinic assessments/evaluations with Veterans to complete the required Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) for submission to VA for eligibility determination. DBQs include questions that require a direct clinical exam of the Veteran (e.g., testing range of motion of joints, documentation of crepitus, etc.).
This role requires excellent and expeditious assessment skills. Ideal candidates should have a proven track record of high reliability when working in an independent atmosphere with little oversight.
Duties include the following.
Prepare for and deliver exceptional Veteran care during all interactions
Complete and submit all required documentation expeditiously and accurately, including DBQs in the required format
Provide delivery and operational excellence by performing exceptional customer service, working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, embracing change with agility and adaptability, and maintaining accountabilities for all assigned commitments
Apply clinical skills to include data gathering and analysis, communications with an emphasis on relationship development and growth, demonstration and application of knowledge and expertise in specialized areas

Active NursePractitioner License in state of employment
