Must maintain current AHA BLS or higher in accordance with Medical-Dental staff bylaws. Providers practicing in acute care environment must obtain AHA ACLS certification or advanced specialty equivalent as defined by the UMA Credentials Committee within 90 days of hire. Prescriptive authority is required. Valid DEA number must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Certification by a national nursing body is recommended

The Nurse Practitioner will be caring for patient being evaluated for CABG, VATS, Valve Surgeries, Esophagectomies, Esophageal Hernias, Carotid Endarterectomy and Vascular procedures. The ideal candidate implements and coordinates a plan of care for patients as part of the multidisciplinary team during their stay including initial consultation for preoperative management during the inpatient stay to discharge. This process would include the coordination of surgical schedules, pre and post procedural/surgical screening and testing. The CV Nurse Practitioner follows the patient from Admission to Discharge to ensure smooth coordination and good patient outcomes. Position Qualifications: License/Certificates/Credentials California Registered Nurse (RN) license, California Nurse Practitioner (NP) license required. Current Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) Certification (AGACNP or ACNP) required. BLS and ACLS certifications required at time of hire.
