General Job Description:
Under the direction of the Assistant Medical Director of Psychiatry, the Adult NursePractitioner offers and provides direct patient care as appropriate through individual psychiatric and medical care. Provides high quality, evidence-based patient care through the utilization of education preparation and specialized clinical expertise. Care is provided utilizing knowledge of the patient's age, gender, culture, special populations, and learning capabilities. Works in collaboration with the mental health treatment team on patient care, clinical and administrative issues. Communicates needs, issues, and concerns as necessary to the supervising psychiatrist.
Job Roles
* Core functions include diagnosing and treating acute and chronic health/mental health care problems, performing adult care check-ups and/or follow-up as indicated per treatment plan, prescribing medication when indicated, creating and updating treatment plans, acting as the Mental Health Treatment Coordinator when appropriate, and teaching health promotion and disease prevention to patients and/or family members.
* Performs general evaluation for mental and medical health status, including but not limited to, completing full intake mental health evaluations, ordering of diagnostic procedures/labs/medical supplies, formulating plans of care, prescribing medication, making appropriate consults to specialty areas and ensuring that immunizations and PPD's are current as required or needed.

* Electronic progress notes will be in problem-oriented format and sufficiently detailed to obtain a clear picture of the patient's current health status. In addition, all patient contacts and visits with physician involvement must include the name of the physician in the progress notes.
* Performs duties relying, as needed, on standardized procedures that allow for the collaborating physician to be available to the NP by phone or in person

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Medical Director, the NursePractitioner is responsible for the maintenance and support of medically assisted treatment and withdrawal management for HealthRIGHT 360 clients. The NursePractitioner is responsible for taking medical history, performing physical examination, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, and diagnosing and treating common illnesses and injuries. Provides consultation and education to participants regarding Medically Assisted Treatment within the Participant Centered Health Home delivery model. Assessment of withdrawal symptoms and application of medication protocols to support participant care. Utilization of the ASAM guidelines to guide participant care. Located in our residential recovery programs and potentially providing support to our outpatient recovery program in Oceanside to provide care to participants.

Key Responsibilities
Educate, support and care for participants receiving medication assisted treatment and/or withdrawal management.
Analyze and interpret participant history, symptoms, physical findings, and/or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
Maintain complete and detailed records of participants' history, assessment, and health care plans.
Perform routine or annual physical examinations.
Medical examination will include the interpretation of all routine laboratory tests.
Diagnosis and treatment of illness and injury related to addiction use disorder.
Consulting with the Assistant Medical Director for treatment or referral options.
Utilization of the ASAM guidelines in directing care of participants.
Assessment of withdrawal symptoms to determine appropriate protocols and the application of those protocols.
Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education and Experience Required:
Graduation from a United States accredited program for NursePractitioners.
Familiarity with medication assisted treatments.
Certification/Licensure:
Possession of a current, valid California Registered Nurse License, Furnishing license.
Possession of a CaliforniaNursePractitioner Certificate.
Current BLS/ACLS certificate or recertification within 2 months of hire.
Possession or DEA license and X waiver or will obtain one within one month of hire.
Desired:
Clinical experience with and commitment to working with diverse client populations suffering from substance use disorder and addiction.
Background Clearance Required:
Must not be on active parole or probation.

Webside Manner: Strong ability to connect with patients virtually and provide empathetic care.

What Allara Offers
