The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for the assessment of selected patients in the designated service. The NP performs physical examinations, confers with patients in person and by phone/electronically, collaborates with others in the department to assure smooth flow of patient care consistent with established quality indicators and participates in the overall coordination of patient care. The NP reports to the Chief of the designated service and to the Department Manager. Essential Responsibilities: Practices under the standard procedure established for the NP role consistent with Kaiser Permanente policy and in accordance with requirement set forth by the California Board of Registered Nursing. Conducts age appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination consistent with department protocol. Performs assessment/data collection in an on-going systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive status; patient/family education, family involvement and patient advocacy. Consults with supervising physician or other clinicians as dictated by patient need and assessment findings. Participates with physicians and other clinicians in the department to assure effective patient care consistent with quality indicators for patients cared for in the designated service. Reviews medical record for follow up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols. Establishes and maintains communication with other health care providers and departments to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness and to promote consistency and continuity of care. Establishes effective working relationships with members of the health care team, patients, and families. Acknowledges staff rights and cultural and ethical beliefs. Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties/activities of health care team members. Evaluates effectiveness of care given by team members. Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles as identified by the institution. Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events. Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for own professional practice. Participates regularly in staff development activities for unit and department personnel. Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning. Participates in unit and department Performance Improvement activities. Participates in nursing research activities as requested. Identifies and solves problems effectively. Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team. Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information. Job Description The Infusion for Health Nurse Practitioner Manager will play a crucial role in providing clinical leadership, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring high-quality patient care within multiple ambulatory infusion centers. This leadership position will be responsible for managing a diverse team, including Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Medical Assistants, and Mixologists, in delivering high-quality specialty infusions and injections to patients. This role is responsible for clinical oversite, recruiting & managing staff members, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and optimizing workflows. This role requires a combination of clinical expertise, leadership experience, and strong organizational skills to support the success of the teams managed. In this role you will be covering our clinics in both Northern California, with consistent travel throughout all clinics. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical Leadership: Engages in remote and in-person supervision in collaboration with the Medical Director, including virtual case discussions, care-plan development, escalated patient issues & reactions, review of infusion protocols, and documentation audits. Ensure that clinical protocols are being followed, and patient safety is prioritized. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring individualized, evidenced-based care. Review and sign off on treatment notes and patient documentation for accuracy and compliance. Occasionally provide direct patient care when required to ensure patient care needs are met or to demonstrate clinical skills for staff. Team Leadership & Development: Manage a team of healthcare professionals, including RNs, LVNs, MAs, and mixologists, across multiple clinic locations. Track and analyze clinic performance data, ensuring that key metrics (e.g., patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, operational efficiency) are consistently met. Develop and implement strategies to improve clinic performance and patient care delivery. Perform audits of inventory management and supplies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Monitor and maintain compliance with regulatory standards, polices, and procedures. Assist with the implementation of quality improvement initiatives. Lead the preparation efforts and assist in day of activities or regulatory audits and accreditation site surveys. Conduct on-site visits to each of the clinics at least once a month to observe workflows, meet with team members one on one, and provide on-the-ground support. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team. Ability to manage complex clinical and operational issues in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Keen assessment and monitoring skills; ability to identify medication reactions quickly. Skilled at performing intravenous catheter placement and monitoring for signs and symptoms of infusion related complications. Competent in the care, use, and maintenance of central lines. Able to demonstrate infection control precautions and sterile technique. Possess knowledge of IV medications, biologics, fluids, and blood components. Skilled in drawing labs using aseptic technique. Ability to engage effectively in partnership with referring providers, deescalate challenging patient situations, and respond to grievances assuring the highest level of service to our partners and patients. Strong computer skills, including word processing, efficient use of the internet and email, and experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR). EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Master's degree in Nursing (NP) from an accredited program. Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state(s) of practice.
