Additional Information
The State of California offers regular business hour shifts and provides 11 paid holidays, paid sick and vacation leave, health benefits, pension and optional 401K and 457 savings plans. Nurses are entitled to another thirty-two hours of paid education leave (during a two year licensure period) for the purpose of earning the Continuing Education Units required for license renewal. Additionally, nurses are eligible for reimbursement of the $140 CA Board of Registered Nursing renewal fee. The salary range is $5,015 to $6,586 per month depending upon years of experience and education. Based on the current State retirement benefit package, with as little as 10 years of state service, you will receive a 50% employer contribution toward the cost of your monthly health premium during retirement, plus 5% for each whole year after the 10th year, up to 100% after 20 years or more.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Nurse Corps Officers may serve at any one of more than 250 Navy and medical facilities around the globe, from Hawaii to Japan, Germany to Guam and Washington, D.C., to Washington state. Under the direction of the Deputy Director, Field Operations, Corrections Services, the Nursing Consultant, Program Review (NCPR), participates as a member of statewide teams responsible for quality assurance and performance improvement. As a subject matter expert with knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, clinical guidelines, and standards of care, the NCPR is responsible for auditing various types of health care operations at CDCR's institutions and contracted facilities and assisting classification and institution health care staff with referring patients to specialized health care beds. Duties will require incarcerated person contact. This position has the possibility of up to 75% travel.
This position is located in Field Operations, Corrections Services. The Corrections Services' programs provide vital services that ensure CCHCS' continued compliance, health care access, and safety throughout all institutions.
