We are seeking a detail-oriented, student-centered Health Technician to support the health and safety needs of our scholars while ensuring compliance with state requirements, campus policies, and best practices in school health operations. About the Role The Health Technician plays a key role in supporting day-to-day student health needs, administering medications per policy, documenting medical encounters accurately, and collaborating with staff, families, and external partners to ensure a safe and healthy school environment. This position also participates in compliance tracking, screenings, reporting, and site audits as part of our school health program. Responsibilities Provide care for injured or ill students and notify guardians when appropriate. Administer medications in alignment with district policy and maintain secure storage of all prescription and non-prescription medications. Maintain accurate and compliant student health records, including immunizations, screenings, and office visit logs. Conduct hearing and vision screenings and submit required reports to state agencies. Create and maintain student Arizona Health Records and ensure records remain updated and audit-ready. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized health office environment. Monitor supply inventory and complete timely ordering and restocking. Conduct quarterly on-site health office audits and analyze data trends to support training and program improvement. Serve as a liaison between the school and external health agencies and partners. Attend required campus and network meetings and trainings. Perform other duties as assigned to support school operations. Qualifications & Competencies Required: Medical Assistant Certification (minimum requirement) Current CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification Ability to obtain and maintain an IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card Minimum 2 years of relevant school-based or pediatric experience Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills Preferred: Experience working in Title I school settings Experience with health compliance reporting or state health requirements Skills & Attributes Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Calm and supportive demeanor when working with children experiencing discomfort, illness, or injury Ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and families Why Join AMS?
