WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
The Qualified (Certified) Medication Aide (QMA or CMA) assists with administering medications to residents as directed by the physician, nurse supervisor, and Director of Nursing (DON). Additionally, this role assists residents with activities of daily living.
Key Responsibilities
The Qualified (Certified) Medication Aide sets up, administers, and records certain prescribed medications for residents in the facility under the supervision of a licensed nurse and as allowed by State regulatory agencies.
Practice the five rights of medication administration within the scope of your role.
Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed.
Properly label, store, receive and destroy medication per company policy.
Perform medication charting as directed by the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
Qualifications
Certified as a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) or Certified Medication Aide (CMA) by the state and maintain a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification in good standing with the state.

Job Accountabilities:
Participate in addition of chemicals; including coolants, greases, oils, lubricants, cleaners and biocides as directed by site staff. Perform bio-stick dip tests of all machine sumps and central systems.
Assist in the maintenance of coolant filters, washers, paint systems, pumps, air handling systems, etc. for sump changes and cleaning, as required to keep fluids within proper limits.
Measure and record coolant parameters and maintain lubrication schedules to ensure parameters are met to maintain the highest coolant conditions. This may involve the dropping and cleaning of tanks when required.
Liaise directly with the customer so that changes in coolant parameters are highlighted and can then be acted upon and enter results in appropriate databases. Prepare detailed shift reports.
Assist in routine maintenance on customer s equipment and fluid systems including product additions, filter changes, emptying gons, sump cleaning, etc. as directed.
Assist in disposal of contaminated articles (i.e. pails, gloves, samples, etc.) in accordance with prescribed measures, including waste management and recycling initiatives
Assist in maintaining and calibrating all laboratory equipment; such as scales, pH meters, glassware, incubators, etc. in accordance with site control plan.
Assist in properly maintaining tools and utility equipment such as pumps, sump suckers, coolant dispensers, etc. in a safe and efficient manner.
Where appropriate: Cut-up, mount and prepare parts for metallurgical testing. Surface etching of parts for analysis. Measurement and metallurgical determinations consisting of hardness and microstructure analysis
Supports site staff general organization initiatives (inventory, storage rooms, labeling, etc.)
May work in manufacturing environment with union associates.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Functions as Scribe which requires knowledge and understanding of retina-specific ophthalmology terminology.

Essential Job Functions:
* Responsible for taking patient history and obtaining vital signs
* Perform basic testing or screenings such as: vision, audio, urine drug screens, breath alcohol, EKGs, pulmonary function testing
* Perform necessary phlebotomy for collection of laboratory samples, if certified
* Accurately complete corresponding paperwork/computer work for lab tests ordered on blood, urine, tissue and culture samples
* Perform point of care testing such as: strep, mono, glucose, influenza, Urine pregnancy, Urinalysis, blood glucose levels
* Insure sterile technique, instrument cleaning and sterilization, proper use of the autoclave
* Schedule and coordinate necessary records for ancillary care for patients
* Assist providers with exams and testing (pelvic exams, eye irrigations and ear irrigations, I & D's and splinting/ ortho-glass preparation
* Maintain confidentiality with all patient information (HIPAA)
* Ensures equipment is in working order
* Logs laboratory procedures when completed, processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed
* Maintains examination rooms and stocks necessary medical supplies
* Performs duties to ensure good patient flow
* Registration duties: explain to patients what insurances that are accepted and those that are out of network as well knowledgeable of all pricing - Properly collect and record payments, complete registration screen in a timely manner
* Accompany the provider to the bedside
* Accurately and thoroughly documents the patient's medical history, physical exam, and procedures
* Completes transcription as requested
* Perform tasks to improve provider efficiency during the course of a shift
* Greet and registers patients

Minimum Job Qualifications:
* 1+ years' experience in a Patient Care Tech role or equivalent preferred
* Ability to identify equipment problems and correcting or notifying team leader

* Able to withstand physical & mental demands: standing, walking, stooping, and bending. Requires ability to move equipment and transfer patients.

* Ability to complete and maintain CPR certification
* Excellent listening and note-taking skills

We are searching for qualified individuals to service ENT offices in the greater Grand Rapids region of Michigan. You must be able to work shifts during business hours - 8am-5pm ET, Monday-Friday.
What It Is
The Scribe assists providers with documentation of care for patients and additional clerical tasks. Scribes accompany a designated provider throughout their shift, utilizing the Electronic Medical Record to document the interaction between the provider and patient. Scribes will complete in-house training, and after successful completion, will work independently with providers we service. Learn more here.
What You'll Do
Utilize the EMR to accurately and efficiently document a patient encounter from start to finish on behalf of medical providers.
Ensure medical record compliance, updating patient history, and other pertinent medical information in the patient's chart.
Preparing and completing charts to send to the provider for review and approval via detailed data entry and specific procedures compliant with the location(s) serviced.
Maintain, organize, and continuously update multiple patient charts simultaneously.
Comply with client and Helix policies, including HIPAA and Joint Commission.
Work closely and directly with appropriate administrative teams.
Perform administrative duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and workflow.
Reliable attendance and travel to assigned location(s) required.
Requirements
Able to pass the Scribe Proficiency Assessment
May elect to defer and complete a free online training course provided by Helix Scribe Solutions to prepare for this assessment.
High school diploma required. College students with a pre-health career track preferred.
Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy preferred.
Able to type 60+ WPM with 80% accuracy.
Observe and draft a narrative account of events accurately and grammatically correct.
Communicate and interact professionally with providers and healthcare professionals.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and instruction.
Ability to work 15-20 hours/week (part-time) or 32-40 hours/week (full-time) for at least 1 year.

Requisition #: Entity/Department: Goshen Hospital / Progressive Care Unit - Telemetry Shift/Hours: Observes ECG monitors, interprets and reports the cardiac rhythm status on the units and/or on telemetry to the RN. Provides secretarial/receptionist support, basic nursing care and assists with the activities of daily living for patients on the unit of practice consistent with the mission, vision and beliefs of Goshen Hospital. Records, interprets, and reports dysrhythmias to the RN.
Functions in a NA/Sec and/or monitor watcher role as needed for shift or unit. Maintains unit supplies, performs routine cleaning of equipment, and maintains a clean, safe environment. Receives and communicates messages, transcribes physician orders, enters patient data and charges in the order communication system, completes all necessary forms and maintains an orderly environment.
Interacts with the patients, providing care as identified in the care plan and as directed by the RN. Works under the direct supervision of an RN. Uses independent judgment to prioritize own work and report observations and information to appropriate personnel.
Position Qualifications
Minimum Education
High school graduate. Completion of nursing assistant training and/or unit secretary training course, successful completion of fundamentals in nursing programs or EMT course. Successful completion of Basic Dysrhythmia course within 30 days of hire.
Minimum Experience
6 months unit secretary or nursing assistant. Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
