WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
The Qualified (Certified) Medication Aide (QMA or CMA) assists with administering medications to residents as directed by the physician, nurse supervisor, and Director of Nursing (DON). Additionally, this role assists residents with activities of daily living.
Key Responsibilities
The Qualified (Certified) Medication Aide sets up, administers, and records certain prescribed medications for residents in the facility under the supervision of a licensed nurse and as allowed by State regulatory agencies.
Practice the five rights of medication administration within the scope of your role.
Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed.
Properly label, store, receive and destroy medication per company policy.
Perform medication charting as directed by the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
Qualifications
Certified as a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) or Certified Medication Aide (CMA) by the state and maintain a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification in good standing with the state.

UHS Medical Services provides high quality medical services to UW-Madison students with specialties in primary care, gynecology, sexual health, travel medicine, allergy and immunization, and physical therapy. Our clinicians also provide a wide range of preventative care in support of the UHS overarching mission of promoting students' academic and personal success through an integrated model of medical, mental health, and prevention activities and services.
Compensation:
The starting salary is $19.00/hour. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's relevant work experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
CPR/BLS certification, prior to start date
Minimum of 6 months of experience working in a healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications:
At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory setting
At least one year of experience working in a healthcare setting
Demonstrated ability to perform patient care procedures in accordance with established protocols, following defined instructions to achieve consistent and measurable outcomes
Completion of Medical Assistant program and/or certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA)
Preferred Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent

Job Summary
